Design And Implementation Of Faculty Assessment System

This paper describes the development of the assessment system. It is the system to act or judge instructors by the assessor of department and the dean of faculty, for instructor salaries and improve organized people of enterprise working efficiently.Faculty of Engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), has 10 departments. In the faculty has more 200 instructors. There have around 20 or 30 for each department. In each year, they will be assessing instructor for 2 times, each time has 6 months. The first time begins from 1st April to 30th September and second time begins from 1st October to 31th March. The assessment system has 4 roles of users include instructor (a person whose job is to teach people a practical skill), assessor (an instructor whose job is to judge the agreement and decide instructor grades), dean (the final assessor), and administrator. The assessment can separate the system cycle to 4 statuses, and it has separated to 3 criterions include quantitative work for 30% scores, qualitative work for 40% scores, and university criterion for 30% scores.The goal of this system is to solve the traditional assessment problems include inconvenient for everyone who involve in assessment, because they were working on hard copies only. Instructors and assessor have to calculate a lot of workloads of quantitative work. So, it will probably get some mistake.The system is developed to run on the server computer of faculty of engineering, RMUTT. It is coded web application in ASP.NET (C#), stored data in SQL Server database, and implement user interface with Bootstrap for responsive website. The assessment system has many functional include "add the agreement and decide grade", "add the information and documents", "assess instructor in department", "approve instructor assessment in faculty", and so on.The propose of the assessment system shows correct solution and satisfaction results include convenient to operate the system, high accuracy of workload calculation, and high reliable of system validation. The implementation is thus considered effective and the project closed successfully.
