Since the eighth elementary education curriculum reform, great changes have taken place in the course content, teaching idea and teaching method. People’s education press has added "mathematical wide-angle" as teaching material in primary school. As to this part of material, we need to do a survey about the students’ learning and teachers’ teaching basic situation. It is necessary for us to facilitate better the implementation of the curriculum standard idea.The study, on the whole, is to answer three questions: First, What is the level of teachers in "wide Angle" mathematics knowledge? Second, How do students learned and teachers taught in the "mathematical wide-angle" class? Third, What is the result of "mathematics wide-angle" teaching and learning? Main methods used in the study include investigation and interview method, literature analysis, case analysis,supplemented with classroom observation and particular case study method. Around the three problems, we studied the mathematics teachers from part of the elementary school in Kunming, Chengdu, and Guiyang, on teachers’ concept, practice and students’ learning result of "mathematics wide-angle". We focused on the combining quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis in the study.The main conclusions of this study are as follow:1. Parts of teachers and students have difficulties in the cognitive of“mathematics wide-angle". But the school’s teachers and students surveyed relatively like this part of the teaching contents, the reason is that through this study students can better permeability mathematical thought method, problem consciousness and problem solving skills;2. The teachers pay much attention to the achievement of the teaching goal,using and combining diverse teaching methods such as lecture, class discussion,group work, while they lack penetration mathematical thinking method, teacher ask few deeper questions;3. If we want to make full use of the education function of "mathematicswide-angle", more attention should be paid on teachers’ teaching training and concept adjustment.Through this study, we hope could provide the practicing of elementary school mathematics thinking method in classroom teaching penetration and the elementary school a glimmer of teachers’ professional development need. Also we hope that the study could offer some convenience of primary school teachers in teaching.
