As a new form of higher education, Sino- foreign cooperative universities with their unique characteristics differ from domestic universities and foreign o nes in the aspects of training objectives, professional settings, course arrangement, teaching organization and management, students recruit, pattern of the talents training, construction of the faculty team and the evaluation of the students’ academic performance. The study of these characteristics will provide significant guidance on talents training, not only on learning useful experience from foreign universities, but also on inheriting these excellent traditions of Chinese universities and even it will be a great help for the perfection of the system of talents training in Sino- foreign cooperative universities. In this paper, it takes the talents training as the breakthrough point, and the University of Nottingham Ningbo China, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Shanghai New York University, Duke K unshan University, Wenzhou-Kean University, United and International College of Beijing Normal University- Hong Kong Baptist University, C hinese University of Hong Kong(Shenzhen) as examples to analyze the talents training model. And then we explain the status quo of Sino-foreign cooperative universities and the characteristics of talents training mode in Sino-foreign cooperative universities, analyze the existing problems of talents training mode in Sino-foreign cooperative universities based on the above study. In addition, this study selects the Yale-NUS College as a sample to analyze and sum up the experience of talents training mode in Yale-NUS College and then finds some enlightenment on talents training mode reform in our country. Lastly, it puts forward some proposals to improve talents training mode in Sino- foreign cooperative universities.This thesis is divided into five chapters: the first chapter outlines the background and significance of this study and analyzes the concept of Sino-foreign cooperative university, talents training mode, talents training mode in Sino- foreign cooperative university, constituent elements, problems and reform measures. Moreover, it also analyzes the achievements and shortcomings of the existing research to provide a basis for research in this study. The second chapter analyzes the present situation of talents training mode in Sino- foreign cooperative universities. The third chapter analyzes the problems of talents training mode in Sino- foreign cooperative universities and the reasons of their existing problems. The fourth chapter makes a discussion on the experiences of talents training mode in Yale-NUS College to provide the perspective of comparative study. The fifth chapter provides the reference opinions to the reform of talents training mode in local universities by combining the characteristics of talents training mode in Sino-foreign cooperative universities with specific cases.
