Along with the rapid advancement of higher education internationalization,Sino-foreign cooperative education, a new mode of school running is booming, andthe trend of international cooperation and exchanges has been presented from allaspects of higher schools, involving optimization of teaching staff, construction of keydisciplines, and innovation in talent trainings. This research hereby, using FujianAgriculture and Forestry University(FAFU), a key constructed university in Fujianprovince, as an example, investigated the implementation of Sino-foreign cooperativeeducation at local higher schools from the perspective of theory as well as practice.The focus of this thesis consists of the following aspects: It first, explains thebackground of Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools, basic concepts andpractical significance. Second, based on the case study of Chinese-foreign cooperativeeducation at FAFU, the thesis expounds its cooperative education background,developing process, school-running mode, school characteristics; then summarizes theachievements and features of the education; and finally, analyzes the existingproblems. Third, the author discusses the strategy on the promotion of Sino-foreigncooperative education at FAFU, including developing goals, guiding principles,developing path, and safeguard measures.This study suggests that, over the past decade, Fujian Agriculture and ForestryUniversity has actively promoted international education strategy by conductingSino-foreign cooperation in running schools. A certain achievements have beenobtained; however, some problems also arose in practice at macro and micro levels.FAFU should continue to follow the internationalization of higher educationexperience, based on the reality and the goal of building the domestic first-class levelof agriculture and forestry university. In the aspect of further promoting Sino-foreigncooperative education, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University should activelyoutreach and enhance Chinese-foreign cooperative programs; promote internationalgeneral education curriculum programs; develop the advantages of cooperation between Fujian and Taiwan, Fujian and Hong Kong; establish the correspondingmeasures for Sino-foreign cooperative education institutions; provide supportingmeasures for the education of concept of internationalization, construction of talentteam, cooperation in scientific research, campus service system and etc.This research will help colleges and universities improve understanding ofSino-foreign cooperation in running schools, thus promoting the internationalizationof higher education practice. It will also provide experience and decision-makingreferences for Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University.
