Cultivating talents and serving the society is the target of colleges and universities. And creating the safe environment for the majority of teachers and students is the necessary condition. In recent years, expanding the college enrollment scale, the development of multi-campus and opening running mode which make more unsafe events, and these not only threat to the personal safety and property security in campus, but also become the outstanding problems in the jobs of campus safety. Internet of things is emerging strategic industries. And there will be a positive significance which we can use the Internet of things to defend the campus safety and maintain campus stability in colleges and universities.Base the three elements of this research to public safety management theory, system theory and information paradox, this paper describes about the present situation of Guangdong campus security incidents’ current situation and problems, analyze the development of the Internet of things by literature research, theoretical analysis,case analysis and field survey and so on many kinds of research approaches. Finally, I will try to build the university campus safety management mode based on Radio frequency identification technology.Papers, on the basis of the study which are the research background, literature review, the core concepts and theoretical, discusses three parts. First, by using the method of field survey and interviews, I will analysis the Guangdong university campus safety management present situation, and found that the awareness of security staff in campus is not strong, the lack of an effective safety management mechanism and the low level of management technology. Second, this part will briefly describes the basic information of the Internet of things by the literature analysis method. And then, using the theory of Heinrich’s Law and Bounded Rationality Model to emphasize the internet of things is a great application value for the management of campus safety by analyzing the cases of Beijing Normal University and University of Science and Technology of China. Third, as a case study of Radio frequency identification technology, I will design five principles including principle of human-oriented, principle of systematization, principle of security, principle of standard and principle of extensibility and so on. At last, based on the five principles, I will try to build the campus safety management mode, including management system architecture and the design of the management process.
