With the development of our society, the effects of English teaching has caught a lot of attention. Following the implementation of the new curriculum reform,quality-oriented education and full-development of students have been focused widely at the same time. ‘Emotion and value’ draws people’s attention, which can be helpful to students’ learning. It can also help students to develop the right view of lives, values and the world. Teachers’ beliefs and practice of the emotional objectives, the teaching strategies applied to achieve emotional objectives and the problems existing in teaching for emotional objectives are the main research questions. This thesis employed questionnaire, classroom observations and interviews to get data and we used SPSS and other ways to compare and analyze the data. By analyzing and comparing the data, it can be found that teachers know and write ‘emotion and value’in their teaching plans, but no actual emotional objectives are implemented in real class. Lack of guidance, insufficiency of teaching time and high pressure from examination-oriented education are all factors which affect the implementation of emotional objectives. The thesis finally gives some implications.
