Since 1950 s, the problem of global climate change has become a social problem that people pay close attention to.Research shows,The main reason of climate change is the amount of greenhouse gas emissions from human activities, and carbon dioxide(CO2) is one of the main greenhouse gas.Formation of carbon dioxide emissions and other problems caused by domestic and foreign scholars research boom. With the deepening of research scholars, human factors which impact on carbon emissions gradually pay attention to it, the impact of demographic factors on carbon emissions is becoming a hot topic. From the perspective of population size and structure, this paper discusses the problem of carbon emission.Based on the basic situation of population size, population structure and carbon emissions Guizhou describing and analyzing trends in carbon emissions.Using the extended STIRPAT model, combined with the relevant data of 1995-2012 in Guizhou Province, the ridge regression analysis was carried out to study the effect of population size and structure on the carbon emission in Guizhou province. The Explanatory factors Guizhou carbon emissions according to their degree of effect size(according to their standard variable regression coefficient absolute terms) are: the proportion of the elderly population(0.4308), the consumer level(0.357), population urbanization rate( 0.2136), carbon intensity(0.0598),the proportion of secondary industry practitioners(0.0215),population(0.0191) from 1995 to 2012. Demographic factors are important factors that affect the results of carbon emissions, population size is limited explanatory power of carbon emissions, population size is not sufficient to explain the impact of demographic factors in Guizhou Province on carbon emissions.Demographic factors on carbon emission contribution is higher, the influence degree of population aging in Guizhou province is the highest, because of the high population pressure.Explanatory power consumption level of the impact on carbon emissions, second only to the proportion of the population aged population, influence is mainly reflected in: With the increasing levels of consumption, consumer demand mainly from food and clothing to gradually focus on "housing, transportation, music " consumption development, thereby leading to increased energy consumption and carbon emissions. While urbanization rate for carbon emissions impact of Guizhou Province also higher, mainly in: Urbanization in Guizhou Province residents increased production and consumption patterns change consumption patterns, urban infrastructure required for cement and other building materials, urban increase the size of the land caused by accounting for carbon sinks and reduce the three areas.Population size, industrial structure and technological impact of demographic factors on carbon emissions is small.
