In recent years, visualization has became a hot topic in the field of computer technology, educational technology and art design. Visualization is a method that analysis data, information or knowledge by turn them into visual image. Invitational texts are those texts without poetry, fiction, drama and other literary works. The application of information visualization, infographics and knowledge visualization in the reading and writing of informational text is a kind of strategic knowledge which means turn the information or knowledge in the text or idea into visual image to assist in understanding and expression. This paper studies the specific contents and the teaching methods of this strategy.The theoretical basis of this paper is to establish the relationship between visual representation and the reading and writing of informational text.Visual representation is a visual image that represent data, information or knowledge. Visual image consists of four elements: shape and dimension, combination relation, data or word, color and other aesthetic elements. According to the degree of visual representation and the proportion of words, visual representation can be divided into four categories. The first is label, annotate with comments, abstract and outline. The second category is table, number axis and statistical graph. Number third is the abstract graphics, abstract graphics can be divided into six categories based on the different relationship between shapes: process graph, tree graph, group graph, network graph, crossed graph and special symbol—these graph represent different ways of thinking. Fourth type of visual representation is picture, video, animation and entities that can presented things directly or use to metaphor things. Concept map, mind map and thinking map are kinds of operating procedures that using abstract graph in certain aspects of learning and thinking.The hierarchical structure of text is concept-proposition-propositional network or word-sentence-discourse structure. Reading is to extract information in the text, structured and internalized them. Writing is to extract information in the brain, structured and outside them. Therefore, matching between the visual representation and reading or writing is use a shape or aesthetic element to represent single information, and use combination relation to represent the logical relationship between single information.Visualization can be applied in different phases of reading, readers can draw the image by artificial, or use the automatic computer program.Visualization in comprehend reading stage is using label, annotate with comments or abstract to find the key information from the text, then use charts, graphics or pictures to analysis the logical relationship between key information, and then structured information and internalized them into the brain. Visualization in critical reading and research reading stage is using visual representation to analysis logical error, then use them to choice and integrated different information from text and other texts. Visualization in appreciation reading stage is using visual images to evaluation and analysis the form of text, such as layout and language style.The application of visualization in writing can be divided into two aspects.The first aspect is the visualization of writing conception, mainly use the outline, tables, graphics and pictures as the holder of conception. The first step is using visual images to divergent thinking and expand writing content, then combing the logical relationship of conception and writing content. The second aspect is to creation visual text, the steps are find key information, choose image, drawing images, add word and beautify image. Writing visual text should follow the rules of logic and art design.In short, the function of visualization is to make implicit thinking explicitly, make scattered thinking structured, make abstract thinking visualized. Visualization can promote the happen of comprehension, improve the quality and efficiency of reading and writing, enhance the consciousness of writing for readers. Visualization strategies can be teaching implicitly or explicitly. Teaching visualization should from easy to difficult and step by step, should pay attention to the development of teaching resources, and pay attention to cooperate with other subjects. Teaching visualization strategy will improve the quality of the reading and writing of informational text and strengthen the ability of logical thinking of students. |
