The development of college students’ patriotism education is an important task of ideological and political education, which is not only to responds how to consensus diversified sights, but also deepens the theory of patriotism education under the multi-culture perspective. Based on this purpose, the paper consists of three chapters, which explores its essence, situations, and strategies.The first chapter studies the connotation of college students’ patriotism education development, basic dimensions, development logic. It answers what college students’ patriotism education development is. From the static analysis, the core contentions of college students’ patriotism education are the translation from tradition to modern, elements integration and structure optimization. Under multi-culture perspective, the basic dimension of college students’ patriotism education development sticks to dominate patriotic values and absorbs the reasonable elements of multi-culture. From the dynamic analysis, it follows the interactive boosting developmental logic of "culture-people-education development".The second chapter studies the main problems of the college students’ patriotism education development and its reasons, which answers what problem exists and how these problems produce. The main problems are weak effectiveness of ideological and political theory courses in colleges and universities, the separation of patriotism education and college students’ daily life, and the flat structure of patriotism education system. The reasons of these problems are the following factors. Firstly, college students’ individual value orientation is diversified. Secondly, college students’ patriotism education content is closed by deconstruction. Thirdly, the traditional patriotism education runs counter to the openness of the multicultural. Fourthly, teachers’ cultural sensitivity is weak.The third chapter researches college students’ patriotism education development strategies, which answers how to promote it. It can be done from the following three aspects: promoting college ideological and political theory class effectively, promoting patriotism education into daily life, strengthening the construction of college students’ patriotism education system.
