University P.E. general education is am important part of general education. P.E. general education course is one of means to realize P.E. general education, which is a research area full of theoretical and practical meaning.The research objective is P.E. general courses of university in Guangzhou. Methods including literature review, questionnaire, ex P.E.rts interview and statistics have been used in the paP.E.r. The first step is to define the P.E. general education courses, and make a conclusion that P.E. courses belongs to general education. Researching the P.E. general education courses can be contributed to the progress of general education. It is a compulsory course as well as an elective course for students to select. Elective course includes practical and theoretical P.E. course, and this paP.E.r focuses on the theoretical P.E. course. The questionnaire objectives in the paP.E.r include SCUT, SUN YAT SEN University, South China Agriculture University, South China Normal University, Guangzhou University,Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University,Guangdong College of Finance and Economicsand Journal of Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Technology. By studying the education carrier and the practical situation in conducting P.E. education courses as well as analyzing course contents, implementation process and final results, the conclusions are as follows:1. Instructors of universities in Guangzhou are clearly aware of the goal and importance of P.E. general courses. The way of understanding P.E. general course for students are learning by themselves by reading P.E. general education outline, teaching by instructors and sharing among students. The rate of students who thoroughly understand the courses accounts for only 7.3%, which tells that we should strengthen the awareness of students’ understanding of the courses.2. According to the course settings, the number of universities who have P.E. general courses is very rare. And the course can’t meet students’ needs. And the P.E. general courses textbook still need to be develo P.E.d.3. The class scale should be switched from big to mediate and small, because students prefer that. Students are satisfied with the P.E. general education instructors and the learning outcome is positive correlation with their elective motivation.4.The assessment of learning outcome is combined with teacher-oriental assessment and student-subsidiary assessment. There is rare final test for students’ theoretical learning, because most theoretical courses are tested by course pa P.E.r, class P.E.rformance and attendance, which is termination-oriental assessment instead of diagnostic assessment.5.How to improve the development of P.E. general education in Guangzhou: clarify the course goal, optimize the course settings, innovative course content, P.E.rfect the course-setting exam and approve system, build the coo P.E.ration system between education department and university.
