Dragon Dance is a Chinese traditional sports project. It s widely circulated in all corners of the country with its great magnificence. It s one of the folk activities that people use to celebrate the traditional festivals or happy times. It s also one of the national programs aimed to enhance both the physical and mental health of the public. The culture of Dragon Dance is an important part of the culture of dragon, and the dance of straw dragon is a kind of Dragon Dance. The straw dragon is full of local characteristics in a simple and vivid form and it s suitable for the primary and middle school students to carry out. The Straw Dragon of Caijia is not only a traditional folk sports project, but also an intangible cultural heritage of Beibei. However, the Straw Dragon of Caijia is quietly disappear under the impact of modern social system, making its existence not optimistic.In order to inherit and carry forward the development of local intangible cultural heritage and construct a special school culture, the combination of the local intangible cultural heritage with the school special construction is needed, and its roots lie in education. Through the literature material method, the field survey method, the statistical analysis method, the questionnaire survey method and so on, this paper mainly conducts a deep empirical study on how to promote the development of the special sports culture of a school and how to protect and inherit the folk sports, using Zhuangyuan Primary School of Beibei which brings in the Straw Dragon of Caijia as a research object.By introducing how the Straw Dragon of Caijia promotes the construction of school culture, this paper puts forward the following conclusions:Firstly, students have benefited a lot from the folk sports that are brought into school. In order to improve the students physical and mental health, enhance their physical fitness and embody them our national excellent traditional culture, schools choose folk sports which are suitable for their own development. Taught through lively activities, students do not forget that they are descendants of the dragon. They will love the sports and their hometown.Secondly, the opening up of school-based courses promotes the heritage of the Straw Dragon sustainably. The Straw Dragon of Caijia has become a school-based course which not only reflects the perfect combination of sports and art, but also enhances people’s constitution to promote the comprehensive development of both the physical and mental quality of the people. So it is with full sports, culture and education value.Thirdly, bring the superiority of the colleges and universities, the folk and the school itself into full play. We should make full use of the resources of the society and other colleges and universities and lead the long-term social capital and technology support into the construction of school culture. In this way, the common resource will be shared to develop in all corners.Fourthly,, school leaders pay high attention to the project. The norms of school management which give strong cooperation in time will be helpful to the construction of school culture.From the research results and existing problems which are showed in the empirical study on Zhuangyuan Primay School bringing in the Straw Dragon of Caijia, this paper gives the following suggestions:Firstly, the government should promote the creative way that Zhuangyuan Primay School used to construct the school culture actively. As a school in the rural-urban fringe zone, Zhuangyuan Primay School used the advantage of folk sports to do its construction of school culture.Secondly, pay attention to and give play to the cooperation between teachers. During the development and promotion of the folk sports, both organizers and teachers are the majority to keep the fire on.Thirdly, a multiple financial planning system should be established. In spite of the stable school funding, other funds are also can be prepared, such as social or personal supplying, money paid by teaching technology, performance fees, the way of self unit, and donation from alumnus or parents. In this way, the supplying of money to the project of Straw Dragon can be ensured.Fourthly, school leaders should adopt various ways to encourage teachers. For example, the performance management system of school should include the straw dragon lessons, and teachers who give the lessons can have a chance of promotion. In this way, PE teachers teaching enthusiasm to the national traditional sports will be enhanced. What s more, in order to make sure that students have a good grasp of the folk sports, the number of the PE classes should be increased.
