Football has a great influence in societies. The development of the football project has a huge significance to weight the level of the sports development and to judge the power of a nation in sport fields. At present, China tries to grow as a strong nation in sport fields, but the level of football is poor. In order to strengthen the development of football, the state council has approved an overall scheme of the football reform and established the Football Reform Team on January 26 th, 2015. Talent training is the key to the development of a nation’s sport industry. Both the quantity and the quality of the athletes of a region, even a nation, will be attached great value and significance to the achievements of sports activities.Nowadays every province has attached positive value to the call of the nation’s development of football. Due to the varieties of the geographical surroundings and the developing base, the strategies of the football development should be deferent. Footballer is the main source of the development of football. Geographical surroundings greatly affect the generation and the growth of footballers. Based on the spatial distribution of footballers, in theory, it can enrich the study of population distribution and migration theory and the population theory of geography can also be applied into the analysis of athletes, especially football athletes; in practice, this research can also clarify the source, distribution, and growth factors of Chinese footballers. The result can provide a base for the footballer’s policy. The author analyzes the register information of the Chinese super league footballers from 2004 to 2015 based on their native places and ages and explores the regional difference of Chinese footballer sources and the geographic distribution of Chinese footballers from the perspectives of three regions, eight areas and the name of province. There exists an outstanding difference among the three regions: the number of footballers of the east regions amounts 4047 persons, which amounts to 77.22% and is larger than that of Mid-western region; but the proportion of footballers of the east region tends to decline with time going by. There are 836 footballers in middle region and accounts to 15.85%, which is less than a quarter of that of the east region; while the proportion in middle region tends to rise. In 2009, the distance of the amount between the middle region and the west region narrows year by year. There are only 366 people in the west which is less than 7%. The characteristic of the west region is not stable, but from the year of 2011, the proportion of this region has a rising trend. The paper has divided the distribution of the Chinese footballer into four parts in the eight regions in China. The number of footballers in northwest region is 1792 with a proportion of 33.97%, and the number of the northern coastal area is 1497 with a proportion of 28.37, which consist of the first part of the footballers’ distribution and whose number is higher than that of others’ regions. The eastern coast region belongs to the second part, whose number is 667 with a proportion of 12.83. The footballers of the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze region, the middle and lower reaches of Yellow river region, the southern coastal area and the southwest belong to the third part; the number of footballers in Yangtze region is 407 with a proportion of 7.71%, 303 with a proportion of 5.74% in Yellow river region, 289 with a proportion of 5.48 in the southern coastal area and 289 with a proportion of 5.48 in the southwest. The number of footballer in the northwest area is only 22, which is the fourth part. In addition, there exists a big difference in the regional distribution of footballers in 31 provinces and cities in China. There is a positive difference in provincial distributions of Chinese footballers. Liaoning province has trained 1611 footballers which is nearly one-third of the total number; Shandong province has trained 605 footballers which amounts to 10%; Shanghai province has trained 491 footballers which is also near to 10%. The number of footballers in other provinces is small, especially in Ningxia autonomous region, Gansu province, Qinghai autonomous region, and Tibetan autonomous region. The changes of the proportion and the characteristics of every province are complex.A conclusion can be drawn that the spatial distribution of Chinese footballers is influenced by the natural environment, economic level, developing level, policy and the distributions of career clubs. However there is a week relation between the spatial distribution of Chinese footballers and the mentioned factors from the perspective of provincial regions. The author also analyzes the data of the three regions from the perspective of the age features of Chinese footballers. The result shows that the age distribution of the three regions appears like “an inverted U”, which means that the most footballers are young men. The range of the age of footballers is 18 to 30. The time of the Chinese super league career of the footballer in east region lasts eight years; the time in middle region is about six years; the time in west region is about eight years. The birth date of the footballers in three regions is matched with the relative age characteristics, namely the number of footballers born in the first quarter of each year is large, whose age is relative older, but there is a decreasing trend by quarters. In addition there is an obvious difference of the average age of the footballers among the three regions. The average age of the footballer in east region is 24.02 years old which is older than that of footballers in middle region whose average age is 23.43 years old. The average age of footballers in western region is 23.06 years old. But the average age of the three regions is younger than that of the excellent footballers in the world whose average age is from 27 to 29 years old. It can be said that there is a big gap between Chinese footballers and the excellent footballers in the word. And the average age of the three regions is also various. The average age of the east is higher than that of the west. The paper suggests that the average age of the Chinese footballers will be raised with the improvement of the Chinese football league system and the enhancement of the football competing level.
