Purpose: Physical education is paid much attention by the government at present. Physical Education(and Health) Curriculum Standard provides a new idea and policy basis for the high school physical education curriculum reform. How to promote students development mentally and physically, making students interested in PE, cultivating their life-long physical consciousness, grasping several sports, which are actual needs of students as well as new curriculum goal. Therefore, it is worth inquiry for we in sports.Methods: By a comprehensive literature review, taking PE teachers and students from five high schools in Pingliang Kongtong, using combined method including literature, expert interview, questionnaire, logical analysis, the present study take an analysis to the feasibility to open Yoga course in Kongtong, Pingliang City and the existed problems subjectively and objectively through amount of questionnaires and literature.Results:(1) Physical Education(and Health) Curriculum Standard in senior school, General High School English Curriculum Setting and Athletics and Health Teaching Outline, which have stipulation respectively in the following: stipulates that teaching materials set goals in five areas plus a modern target emerging sports items; teaching content is divided into restrictive and arbitrary elective; teaching objectives and content of the framework are set out, requiring a compulsory and an elective PE class weekly; putting the characteristics of applicability, foundation, science, suitability and interestingness of teaching content.(2) High school students are under heavy pressure of entering college with heavy learning task. They take little exercise for heavy learning task. Some students don’t join in PE class for lacking of interest, afraid of bitterness, dirtiness and tiredness. That makes immature bodies can not reach the normal exercise amount, which can cause serious muscle developmental delays and weaker coordination and flexibility. What’s more, high learning pressure and low psychological enduring capacity, all the factors like which make students tend to anxious and confused. Therefore, it is extremely urgent to improve the situation of teenagers. The society is also call on a sport keeping the balance of physical and spiritual health.(3) Through investigation, the present study get results that teacher, space, equipment, climate and other factors in Kongtong Pingliang City meet the basic needs of yoga course opening in High School.Conclusion:(1) Policies support the introduction of new sports, introduction of yoga into high schools in Kongtong Pingliang City meet the new curriculum standards to promote the "health first" and "lifetime sports" teaching objective; conforming teaching requirement of applicability, foundation, science, suitability and interestingness; agreeing innovation and epochal character of PE in high school(2) Yoga Courses meet the needs of students in high schools in Kongtong Pingliang City. Yoga poses can relieve stress, improve students’ negative emotions and fatigue under serious pressure, and regulate nervous system,endocrine system,muscle tissue, bone and connective tissue, improving body skills. Yoga theoretical knowledge can train students to develop good habits and play a positive role in guiding life and learning, emotion and so on. Yoga meditation holds that all external troubles are just reflection from depressed heart and true consequences of that, which can adjust psychology of high school students, so yoga is suitably open in high school.(3) it is feasible to open yoga course in high schools in Kongtong Pingliang, the prospect of which is broad.
