Adopting the methods of questionnaires and interviews, the article makes an investigation and analysis from different aspects of learning interest , motivation , will, habit and evaluation of students for biology learning of Junior and Senior schools in Pingliang, Gansu Province. In the end, some conclusions are made as following:1.Totally speaking , Students' learning interest for Biology is higher at present but is declined with the upgrading of grades.2. The primary motivation for students to learn biology in Middle School is because of close connection with its' knowledge and life as well as wide application in reality world , so this kind of studying motivation is quite definite .3. Generally , learner' s will for this subject and ability of self-controlling are weaker , therefore , the phenomenon which students dare to explore and study more deeply is ugly common; Respectively , the resistance of the learning will is mostly affected by individual studying interest and variables of outer world .Otherwise , the will is less influenced by the courses scores or marks .4. Owing to lackness of developing good learning habits and grasping proper studying strategies , most of students are passive in whole learning duration , with scarcity of enthusiasm and initiative , thus they usually don' t catch each facet of study duration well , the main students behaviors are performed as follows :(1) Negative and passive previewing , rough glance to new lessons , and Lackness of proper ways of previewing .(2) Scarcity of independent thinking in the course of review , and only mechanical repetition of teacher' s explanation.(3) Passive attitudes to biological experiments.(4) Aimless and alternativeless note-making.(5)Bad but common phenomenon of unconcetrating attention, incomplete understanding and worrying lesson' s efficiency5.The present state of biology teaching in Pingliang are as follows: monotonous and traditional application of teaching method, incomplete use of visual aids, and ignorance of modern teaching technology and poor experiments and extra curriculum.6. Students have strong desire to learn about practical biological technology and local resources of biology so that they eager to get some instructions about learning strategies and communications with outer world, therefore, the extra reading materials after class are limited.Finally, I will give my individual suggestion about biological teaching in Junior and Senior schools in Pingliang according to investigation and analysis on above as following :l.We must have a comprehensive understanding and attitudes of biology' s values and positions in primary and secondary education , and enhance the classroom teaching .2. Students' studying interest should be kept and developed by enforcing education with certain aims or purposes .3. We should pay more attention to help students develop some good learning habits on the subject .4.Techers should explore and develop actively biological , school-based curriculum and make the combination of it and extra curriculum come true .5. The experimental teaching must be enhanced and revised .6. The educational authority should foster the teacher* s re-education so as to upgrade their comprehensive qualities .
