After housing commercialization, with the neighborhood flow velocity increased significantly, residential space differentiation trend, residents commuting and working time rising, the willing to contact with neighbors is weaker and neighborhood relations tend to be more loosely. On the other hand, living environment changes, especially the lack of a public space for social activities result to terrible communicative situation, even reducing the residential identity and sense of belonging. Under the urbanization process, the gap of housing supply is shrinking, which means the housing demand gradually tend to a higher level such as security, emotional and belonging. In this context, this article hopes to explore the characteristics of neighborhood place attachment and demand for residential environment identity and dependence.Through the literature review, the concept of commercial housing neighborhood, place attachment and interactive space characteristics was firstly defined. Combined with the related theories and literature, the interactive space characteristic variables related to the neighborhood attachment were defined and quantified, and residential neighborhood place attachment index was calculated through the 5 Likert scale. Secondly single factor analysis of variance and correlation analysis were considered as the methods of analyzing the characteristic of neighborhood place attachment. Then based on the theory assumption of the model, combined with random utility model, the path analysis model were built, along with methods of model estimation, inspection and correction. Finally the path graph of the model could be drawn. In the empirical analysis part, the data was got by random questionnaire. Empirical analysis results showed that the residents with the ownership of housing, having lower income and higher the level of education, living longer had higher level of neighborhood place attachment. Having more frequent neighborhood contact and contact with neighbors may lead to weaker neighborhood place attachment. While, the depth of contact owned the opposite impact. At the same time, the material environment of smaller housing construction area, less number of floors, shorter commuting time and better public space was connected with higher level of neighborhood place attachment. In terms of effect path, the level of education, contact depth, commuting time and housing type had a direct effect. On the contrary, the length of living time and level of public space influenced the neighborhood place attachment indirectly through the contact depth. The factor with highest effect degree was the level of education of the residents, followed by housing type and commuting time, with the negative effect, then the contact depth and level of public space. The effect of the length of living time was weakest. Based on the above conclusions, some related countermeasures and suggestions were finally put forward aimed at residential housing product design and positioning, housing area planning and management.
