The Comparison Research On Function And Configuration Of Elderly Community Care Facilities Relation Across Taiwan Straits

With the booming of elderly community growth, the society nowadays pays increasingly attention to the pension issue. Along with the acceleration of global aging, China has already entered the era of aging society. In China ’s Twelfth-Five-Year Plan, Chinese government emphasizes the regulator should jointly work with the society to enhance the function of public policy guiding, financing and market developing while addressing the endowment solution social-wisely. This public policy indicates the principle of solving the aging population issue as combining the traditional family pension and social institutional pension.Elderly community care initiated from the social need of developing a brand new type of social endowment. By fulfilling the requirement of living with the younger generation and children for the elders, the elderly community care can provide family facilities and social services at the same time. However, due to the delay of elderly community care development notion in China, there is still deficiency of indoor and outdoor facility. On current stage, China needs to take advantage of outstanding overseas experience of well-developed community care facility for elders, which provides the reference and standard for China ’s elderly community care developing practice.In Taiwan, with the early impact of local political, economic and population structure, the domestic elderly care facility topped within Asia. By sharing similar environment, climates and culture background, China Mainland can quickly obtain the experience from comparison of elderly community care facility between Taiwan and PRC, especially Xiamen City.After long-term research on the documents, local regulation and news reports regarding the Taiwan and overseas elderly c ommunity care facility issue, we thoroughly understand the current status of development in China. We have also compared indoor and outdoor facility function between Taiwan and China Mainland via collecting real-time interview feedbacks and on-site survey.We sincerely hope the research would assist on the design and reconstruction of China including Xiamen ’s elderly community care facility by enriching theoretical practice.
