The Design And Implementation Of Google Calendar Feature For Jabber Meeting SDK

With the continuous expand of the modern enterprises as well as the fast-pace office tasks, the high-efficiency connection between the employees becomes an emergency and high-priority issue for these modern companies.Though the traditional popular instant message software,QQ for example,can satisfy the basic communication demand of the employees, its potential security threaten to the company as well as its high distraction to the employees makes it be unacceptable to most of the modern companies. The Enterprise Instant Message rises in respond to the proper time and conditions with its Manageability and safety. Not only can it supply a relieable communication channel for the employees, but also it can merge other service provided by the company and build a collaboration platform for the whole company.Cisco Jabber, the new generation EIM developed by the Cisco, based on his primary service of communication, has found the key value of the meeting in the daily collaboration and thus made the meeting become its exceptional feature. On the one hand, Cisco Jabber merges the WebEx Meeting-one of the most popular online meeting service product-into his meeting service. On the other hand, it integrates the meeting service of the common office software, Outlook for instance. Furthermore, Cisco Jabber is expanding his service into the cloud service and thus conducts cooperation with Google to support the Google Calendar feature.The dissertation mainly discussed design and implementation of Google Calendar feature of the Cisco Jabber. By analyzing the Meeting Integration moduel of the Jabber Meeting SDK, which is the foundation of the meeting component framework, we have extracted the meeting integration flow and designed the new module of Google Calendar based on the observer pattern, thus added a new feature to the Jabber Meeting SDK. This new feature is collecting meeting information from Google’s server through Google Oauth2 protocal and uploading them to the upper level of the SDK for further processing.
