Nowadays, both "Industrie 4.0" and "Made in China 2025" have deemed the intelligent manufacturing to be the significant approach as well as the primary orientation for sharping their competitive edges of the international manufacturing industry. As the foundation of realizing the digital, intelligence-networked production process, the intensive studies of manufacturing execution system have hence been placed in a primary strategic position. Manufacturing execution system (hereinafter referred to as "MES"), lies in the category of industrial information management. Throughout the progress of manufacturing information engineering for more than two decades, the MES has since been appropriately utilized in the domestic flow manufacturing. Nonetheless, relevant MES applications for the discrete manufacturing industries have seen urgent demand of intensifying. Consequently, data acquisition of the production process has been one of the research subjects in the MES of discrete manufacturing industries.One of the biggest obstacles amid the production process of discrete manufacturing industry is its low degree of digital, intelligence-networked production process, which can be more obviously observed in the middle and small-sized enterprises. Coincident with the advent of fresh internet information technologies such as radio frequency technology, mobile internet technology and internet of things, consequently, they provide multiple applicable implementation technological possibilities for the discrete manufacturing industry during its data acquisition of production process.The status quo of the domestic MES and its data acquisition technology are introduced in the thesis, various acquisition and transmission technologies are also analyzed and compared. Specifically, a set of gear processing production line was utilized in a typical disperse production workshop as the research subject to introduce the workshop production process. Moreover, based on the overall structure of MES, a demand analysis and relevant systematic design was operated, the data acquisition was regarded as the crucial link and some of the data acquisition functions of MES were realized by utilizing data acquisition mode of RFID. Moreover, data transmission technology of ZigBee amid the integrated development environment of Visual Studio 2010 as well as the database of SQL Server 2008 enjoyed similar conditions. Eventually, a systematic test for the gear processing production line’s environmental data was activated as well as records the specific real time data, such as the start time and end time of each processing procedure, product processing equipment, processing personnel and so on. These measures will provide significant benefits for the management of production personnel. The real time data and activate a timely management for the staff in the process of production workshop have been collected, the equipment as well as products which are under processing. Therefore, the efficiency of the production line can be better guaranteed and the quality of the products can be considerably increased.
