High-tech enterprises have become a new economic growth point. The growthcapacity of high-tech enterprises has a direct impact on national economicdevelopment, and is also an important symbol to measure the development ofhigh-tech enterprises. Therefore, the research on evaluation of the growth ofhigh-tech enterprises is of great significance.The existing evaluation index system of the growth of high-tech enterprisesonly focus on the shareholders’ interests, while ignoring other stakeholders’interests in the enterprises and the important role of employees in the value creationprocess. At the same time, the value-added created by the high-tech,high-intelligence human capital is greatly increased. Therefore, this paperintroduces value-added theory into the evaluation index system of the growth ofhigh-tech enterprises in order to take full account of the contribution made byworkers for business growth. Such consideration tends to pursue the sustainabledevelopment of enterprises, rather than temporary, short-term high-speed growth.This paper introduces the value-added theory and high-tech business growththeory first. On this basis, this paper concludes the value-added indicators from twofirst-level indicators of growth potential and real competitiveness in fivesecond-level indicators of innovation capability, financial growth, value-addedcreation capability, economic efficiency and social contribution to build theevaluation index system of the growth of high-tech enterprises based onvalue-added, and utilize the catastrophe progression method to evaluate the growthof high-tech enterprises listed on the main board and GEM, and then makeshorizontal comparison to obtain result that the growth of GEM listed high-techenterprises is higher than main board listed high-tech enterprises. Meanwhile,based on the data of2008-2010years, this paper makes historical comparison ofmain board listed high-tech enterprises of their growth coefficient of the top ten,and obtains result that the growth of most of main board listed high-tech enterprisesdeclined in2010. Finally, on the basis of the evaluation results, from two aspects ofgrowth potential and real competitiveness, the recommendations on managers howto improve the growth of enterprises have been proposed.
