The Indicators’ Construction And Empirical Research Of Guangdong Province’s Comprehensive Development Based On Economy, Society, Environment

2014, the view that GDP is not the only leading indicator valuing region developmentwhich was proposed by the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s PoliticalConsultative Conference has been widely accepted. This dissertation is based on economic,social, environmental three subsystems to build integrated development indicator. Thisindicator’s construction method can be extended to the whole country and provinces. basedon Guangdong Province, This article construct Guangdong Development Indicators ofeconomic, social, environmental subsystems, and analyze the three systems’ development.This article is divided into the following chapters.In the introduction, it mainly introduces the index and method about regionaldevelopment in China and abroad, evaluates these indexes and methods, and puts forward theconstruction method about the index of comprehensive development.The next chapters usesGuangdong Province as an example of empirical research.The second chapter is about the economic system, using Solow model and regressionanalysis as methods to analyze the source of economic growth and measure out contributionrates of he various production factors especially technological progress to economy growth.The third chapter is about social and environmental systems, using principal componentanalysis method, measure out the formula of the main component of each system, and explainthe significance of them. Using questionnaires method to give weights to the theresubsystems, and derive Guangdong Province comprehensive development indicator’sformula.What’s more, in the fourth and fifth chapter,this article apply the formula to evaluateGuangdong Province’s comprehensive development each year from1980and evaluate thecomprehensive development of21cities in2012,to propose the special suggestions to thecities on sustainable development of Guangdong Province.
