The Study Of Urban Sustinable Development Of Quanzhou

Researching on urban sustainable development has become a hot subject in thestudy of sustainable development. Based on the theory and the research of urbansustainable development both home and abroad, this paper designed anindicator system to assessment the ability of sustainable development of Quanzhouand to find out its trend. After the empirical analyze, the paper put forward somesuggestions about how does Quanzhou city to improve the ability of sustainabledevelopment.Combine with the concept and the research achievement of sustainabledevelopment and the ability of sustainable development of city, this paper make itsucceed to explore the principle and the framework of how to set up theindicator system. The level indicator in the indicator system has3subprojects, whichare the economic system, the social system and the resources and environment system.The secondary indicators have9indicators, including all the system’s basic aspects,coordinating aspects and sustainable aspects. The third level has25indicators.Firstly, in order to find out the different factors which affecting the sustainabledevelopment in different subsystems, this paper using the method of factor analysis toestimate the20sample cities’ dimensionless date. Secondly, aiming at exploring thetrend of sustainable development of Quanzhou, this paper made a research based onthe date of Quanzhou from2000to2011.The result is, first, the coordination problembetween the second industry and the third industry is an important factor in theeconomic system, but the factor of comprehensive strength is the most important one.Second, the social system’s basic factor is most important, the coordination problembetween urban and rural development is also an important factor.Third, the factor ofwater environment has the largest negative affect on the resources and environmentsystem. Fourth, the relationship between the economic system and social system isreasonable; however the development of the resources and environment system is notso good.Finally, the paper prospects some suggestions to make Quanzhou city morebetter form the perspective of economy, society and resources environment.
