Building a new socialist countryside is the primary task of balancing urban andrural development. At present, the building of a new socialist countryside putsforward new requirements for village distribution optimization, the rural residentialland layout is the main carrier to optimized to achieve urban and rural land useplanning, urban and rural infrastructure and public service facilities planning, urbanand rural living environment. Based on food security, ecological security andsustainable development of social economy, how to correctly guide the ruralresidential land reasonable extension, become an urgent problem of rural residentialland layout planning.This study which based on previous studies, focusing on rural residential landreasonable expansion goals, enrich and supplement the case study on the cellularautomata model applied in the urban land expansion simulation. Specify based on thecomplexity theory, settlement geography theory, man-land relationship theory and thetheory of landscape ecology and other related theories, by comprehensive use of GIStechnology, and taking Anhua County Zhexi town for example, the papersystematically analyses the influence factors on rural residential land expansion fromthe two aspects on the land scale and spatial expansion, discusses the rural residentialland distribution characteristics influenced by different factors; and combined withthe land use planning space control requirement of rural settlements during the landusing construction,taking the rural residential land scale and space constraints as themain constraint condition of rural residential land use expansion simulation, usingsimulation model of rural residential land extension based on multiple criteria tojudge cellular automata (MCE-CA), it makes a scenario simulation study on therural residential land use extension in Zhexi town of Anhua County. Through theabove theoretical and empirical research, we get the following conclusions:1)Combined with the technology of GIS and Voronoi figure, by using the GISinquiring and counting functions, analyzed the distribution characteristics of Zhexitown’s rural residents quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed out that: onthe town scale, Zhexi town’s CV value was87.98%, and the spatial distributionappeared a cluster-type; on the county scale, Minfu Village’s distribution wasrandomly, other counties’ distribution appeared cluster-type. 2)Through the point density analysis on the distribution characteristics of ruralresidents in Zhexi town, we can see that: rural residents of Zhexi town is aggregateddistribution in the central of Muliu Village and eastern area of Shengli Village.3)Using the GIS spatial analysis function we realized the quantitative study ofthe relationship between rural residential areas and elevation, slope, water, traffic,town, farmland and garden plot. The result show that: terrain is the macroscopicbackground of the rural residential areas distribution, which directly related to thesize and shape of the rural residential areas. Meanwhile, the distributioncharacteristics were comprehensive influenced by road, water, town, farmland andgarden plot.4)Through the use of MCE-CA simulation model we have a scenario simulationon rural residents land expansion simulation of Zhexi town, and the results show that:based on MCE-CA, the rural residential land expansion simulation model can betterreflects the expansion regularity of rural residents in Zhexi, using CA theory and themethod for rural residential land expansion simulation has certain feasibility andadaptability; and the simulation results can well reflect the influence factors of ruralresidents, can offer quantitative factors to rural residents planning in future,andprovide guidance and reference value for the rural residential land layout.
