Research On Implementation Optimization Of Procurement Management Information System In Company Y

After more than20years of the reform and opening policy, the small andmedium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have become an important force to promotesustained rapid economic growth and market prosperity as well as to accelerate socialemployment growth and social stabilization in China. In the modern era of knowledgeeconomy, information technology plays a very important role in enterprisesdevelopment. To implement information technology in SMEs is not only an inherentdemand of a company’s survival and development but also an important effect of acountry’s global competitiveness and sustainable economic development. Statisticaldata indicates that most developed information systems have failed since the leadersof SMEs lack adequate realization of the role of information. Therefore, it isnecessary to conduct research and analysis, to identify the causes of the failure, and tooffer instructional suggestions on information technology of SMEs.Company Y, as a representative of emerging developed SMEs, has experienced aperiod of rapid development. Then it is found that the backward measures ofmanagement have restricted the business development. The management team ofcompany Y started to seek means of information to improve the management level. Inthis paper, the purchasing department is chosen as a research object to give anin-depth analysis of the information management implementation and problemscaused during the application. Furthermore, the writer optimizes and improves theoriginal working process through process optimization and systematic transformationmethod, such as: to classify the suppliers by different materials, to simplify process bythe ASME process value-added analysis table，to reduce purchasing cost by adoptingnew cost management ideas, to achieve clearer division of responsibility and rights byadjusting organization and post duty, and to enhance the decision making analysisfunction of the purchasing department. The paper also applies information technologyto improve purchasing management function in order to share information, reducecost, provide decision-making analysis, and set up management system inside thecompany. The information system study in the paper will provide theoretical andpractical references for the procurement management of other small andmedium-sized enterprises.
