Wudadao and some other historic urban quarters of Tianjin are well preserved bythe Tianjin Municipal Government. As a whole it is one of the most valuable CulturalHeritage sites in China. Taking the opportunity of China’s economic prosperity, howto realize the sustainable development of tourism is an important topic to Tianjin.From various perspectives, this paper analyses the factors which can affect thetourism development of Tianjin’s historic urban quarters. And therefore the tourismdevelopment strategy which suits the local circumstance can be identified through athorough approach. In making the tourism development strategy, Tianjin should put“Modern China through the Eyes of Tianjin” as the core part, seizing the opportunityand taking the advantage of competitive resources. Meanwhile, low investment andflexible modes are recommended to the policy makers, and the impacts to the societyand the environment should be minimized during the operation.The main content of the thesis consists of six parts. The first chapter is tointroduce the background, the significance and the method of the research. Thesecond chapter is to summarize the relevant concepts, and evaluate both domestic andinternational research results on the issue. The third chapter is to summarize thesituation of Tianjin’s overall tourism development and to analyze the factors whichcan affect the tourism development of Wudadao and other Tianjin historic urbanquarters. The solution is given in the fourth chapter for the tourism developmentstrategy and implementation of Tianjin. The fifth chapter is the conclusion andprospect.The aim of this paper is to analyze the tourism development strategy of Tianjinhistoric urban quarters which can be used as a reference by the government officials,developers and researchers.
