With the growing integration of global economy, the competition between themanufacturing companies has intensified, the trend of consumer demand haspersonalized and diversified, Servicizing has become the key to the developedcountries for manufacturing growth, the manufacturing and services sectors haveconverged interactive and mutual promoted. Services closely with the production,such as R&D, production, marketing, consulting, have been fully involved in the keylink of the manufacturing industry’s development, and they have become the mainsource of technology innovation. Manufacturing service-oriented behavior hasbecome an important means for enterprises to maintain a competitive advantage andan access to get profit. In this situation, manufacturing enterprises must enhance thereaction speed of technology and market changes, while relying on effectivecommunication, information sharing, integration of resources to achieveorganizational innovation. Flexible organization, with a high degree of sensitivity andflexibility, is the model of the organizational which can quickly adjust the strain.Therefore, on the background of manufacturing services, it is significant to study therelationship between organizational flexibility and enterprise performance forcultivating the competitive advantage and enhancing comprehensive competitivenessof enterprises.On the background of Servicizing, this paper studies the relationship betweenorganizational flexibility and enterprise performance. On the basis of domestic andforeign manufacturing services theory and the relationship study on externalenvironment, organizational flexibility and enterprise performance, this paperidentifies the scope, connotation and dimension of service degree, organizationalflexibility and enterprise performance these three study elements, puts forwardmaking function of service degree and several assumptions about relationship of theformer three elements, and establishes a conceptual model of service, organizationalflexibility and enterprise performance. Based on the conceptual model and combinedwith the development of Shaanxi manufacturing companies, the paper designs questionnaire by using of expert interviews and predicts with small samples in a smallarea, then Survey with modified formal questionnaire. By183manufacturingcompanies’valid data, the paper does empirical test of the conceptual model by factoranalysis, structural equation modeling and regression analysis, and modifies themodel. The study verifies the following assumptions: organizational flexibility and itsdimensions have significant positive impact on enterprise performance,service-oriented and its dimensions also have significant positive impact on enterpriseperformance, and service behavior has mediating effect on the relationship betweenorganizational flexibility and enterprise performance. These conclusions havepractical significant for servicizing manufacturing companies to build a flexibleorganization.The innovation of this paper is mainly reflected in the following three aspects:(1)the organization flexible six-dimensional evaluation model. On the basis ofreferences, this paper establishes the six-dimensional model measuring organizationalflexibility against the characteristics of manufacturing enterprise organization,including structural flexibility, personnel flexibility, process flexibility, resourceflexibility, innovation flexibility and cultural flexibility, Through the reliabilityverification of the validity of the model with SPSS17.0and AMOS6.0software, thesix-dimensional model has a high degree of goodness.(2)the relationship between organizational flexibility and enterprise performancemodel on the background of manufacturing services. The study begins with a servicebackground to explore the influence on enterprise performance with organizationalflexibility and its dimensions, and verifies the intermediary effect of theservice-oriented behavior in the relationship between organizational flexibility andenterprise performance, further explains the service-oriented behavior’s specificoperation mechanism in manufacturing enterprises.(3)empirical study is based on theoretical model and it has certain practicalsignificance. Currently, Most of the researches on the manufacturing services stay atthe macro level, this study analyzes Shaanxi empirical manufacturing companiesin-depth after proposed model assumes at the micro-level, combines theory andpractice situations as a tool and guidance to build flexible organization formanufacturing companies. It has certain practical significant for the organizationaldevelopment and improving performance of manufacturing enterprises in ShaanxiProvince.
