A Research On The Relations Among Urban Spatial Expansion, Resource And Environment And Economic Development In The Core Area Of Jiujia Urban Agglomeration

Urban spatial expansion is the most direct manifestation of the process ofurbanization and urban land use change and it is the comprehensive reflection ofspatial layout and structure of change. Now, the study on urban spatial expansion hasbecome a hot issue at home and abroad. Jiayuguan city and the Suzhou district whichare the core of Jiujia Urban Agglomeration is the important node between Lanzhoucity and Urumchi city, and it is the key to the development of urbanization in "thewest wing" of Gansu province. To research the relationship between resourceenvironment, economic development and urban spatial expansion is good to finddriving mechanism and dynamic relationship between them which is the importantscientific basis of for the sustainable development of Jiujia Urban Agglomeration.This study based on the analysis of urban spatial extension process of the core ofJiujia Urban Agglomeration, establishing a model of the relationship between urbanexpansion and economic development and the response model of urban expansion andenvironment. To explain the relationship between resource environment, economicdevelopment and urban spatial expansion, there are the conclusions:(1)1985~2012, the urban spatial expansion of Jiayuguan city and Suzhoudistrict show the obvious stage characteristics. The urbanization intensity index hasexperienced from low value and extension type has experienced from low speed tohigh speed. There are big difference in the urbanization intensity of all directions ofJiayuguan city and Suzhou district at different periods. The main expansion directionin Jiayuguan city is South and East, and the main expansion direction in Suzhoudistrict is South and West, the two cities urban spatial expansion showed the trend ofthe development in both directions. In the aspect of the external morphologyevolution of urban spatial expansion, The Compact degree of Jiayuguan city is higherthan that of Suzhou district. The City proper contour line Contour is complex andpoor stability in Jiayuguan city and Suzhou district. Urban spatial form of Jiayuguanis gradually tend to be round, and it is gradually tend to be irregular shape in Suzhoudistrict.(2)2000~2012, The comprehensive response index and degrees for resourceenvironment to urban spatial expansion of the core of Jiujia Urban Agglomeration increased year by year, the influence on the urban spatial expansion to resourceenvironment level was increased. To a certain extent, the urban spatial expansion havebeen promote the resources and environment level to be more healthy development.The two reasons which cause the urban spatial expansion work on resources andenvironment level in Jiayuguan city are the increasing economic growth andenvironmental pressure, The two factors which cause the urban spatial expansionwork on resources and environment level in Suzhou district are the increasingenvironmental pressure and urban spatial expansion. Overall, the obviously increasingresource and environment pressure which caused by economic growth and urbanspatial expansion will influence resource and environment level of the core of JiujiaUrban Agglomeration, and it will become a obstructive factor of the healthydevelopment of the urban spatial expansion and resource environment system in thecore of Jiujia Urban Agglomeration.(3)1985~2012, there isn’t long-term equilibrium relationship between urbanspatial expansion and economic development in Jiayuguan city. On the contrary, thereis long-term equilibrium relationship between urban spatial expansion and economicdevelopment in Suzhou district, and urban spatial expansion cause the changes of theGDP, the proportion of secondary and tertiary industry output value as a whole, andfixed-asset investment. Urban spatial expansion is the main factor to promote thedevelopment of secondary and tertiary industry, and it makes a huge contribution tothe development of secondary and tertiary industry. Accordingly, economic growth,industrialization and urbanization make difference on the urban spatial expansion. Inaddition, the industrial structure adjustment is one of the control factors of urbanspatial expansion, and it can effectively adjust the speed of urban spatial expansion.
