Employment is vital to people’s livelihood, so friendly labor relationship is thefoundation of building a harmonious society. In recent years, with the profound socialeconomic transition and social interest structure adjustment, the labor relations havechanged a lot. Although the pressure that labor supply exceeding demand still exists,the low employment quality has gradually become the focus of the labor relationscontradiction. low-range informal employment in cities is a supplement to the formalone and the employment quality of low-range informal employees-a long-neglectedgroup is particularly worrying. Some scholars in China have begun to focus on theproblem of employment quality, but the researches on the employment quality oflow-range informal employment in cities are rare. Based on the investigations of somelow-range informal employment groups in Qingdao, this paper specifically analyzestheir working conditions, social security, labor relations, career development and jobsatisfaction, the conclusion is made as follows: the employment quality of urbanlow-range informal employees is low. Some reasonable suggestions are made in thispaper to help improve the employment quality of urban low-range informalemployees in our country.The paper consists of five parts. The first part mainly elaborated the background,significance and method of the research; In the second part the relevant theories ofemployment quality is combed and analyzed; while the standards and principles ofmeasuring employment quality and the main index of measuring urban low-rangeinformal employees are provided in the third part; the present situation and thereasons of the employment quality are analyzed based on the investigation oflow-range informal employees in Qingdao, which is included in the fourth part. In thelast part, corresponding suggestions are made to improve the employment quality ofurban low-range informal employees in our country.
