A Discussion Of The Development Space For Sino-russian Comprehensive International Economy And Trade Relations

In2013, the import and export volume of China has ranked first in the world. Tofind the trade development space is one of the basic strategies for China to expand thetrade volume and promote the whole economic development. Russia is one ofChina’s trading partners with the highest degree of complementarities and a longhistory of international trade with China. These two economies are highlycomplementary. Meanwhile they have a huge advantage in geographic and a greatpotential in bilateral trade. On the hand, to develop the comprehensive internationaleconomy and trade relations of Sino-Russian can find the insufficient space ofSino-Russian trade. On the other hand, we can also provide suggestions for thedevelopment of China, Russia and other countries.The argumentation of this paper: Firstly, use the trade theory and the bilateral tradedata to conduct qualitative analysis. Secondly, on the basis of the qualitative analysisin Sino-Russian trade, this paper uses gravity model of trade to conduct quantitativeanalysis. Thirdly, the traditional means to analyze the Sino-Russian trade is the tradein goods. The Russian economy has its particularity. Technology trade and servicetrade play an extremely important role. This paper discusses the full range of theSino-Russian economic and trade relations from three aspects in goods, services andtechnology trade. Lastly, according to the relative analysis, we find the factors thatconstrain the development of the Sino-Russian economic and trade and then putforward the corresponding policy recommendations.The thesis is arranged as follows: The introduction part mainly introduces theresearch background, the significance of the topic, literature review and researchmethods. The first chapter mainly introduces the gravity model of trade and trade theory which will be used in the paper. The second chapter of this paper mainlyintroduces the economic history of China and Russia to find whether the trade spaceexists. The third chapter and fourth chapter of this paper are the quantitative analysis.Firstly, construct the gravity model of trade in goods. Use the method of quantitativeeconomics and get the general form of the Chinese export equation to carry on anempirical analysis of trade development space. The result reveals more than50%space can be developed in bilateral goods trade. Secondly, construct the gravity modelof trade in service on the basis of gravity model of trade in goods to illustrate thedevelopment space of service. Lastly, analyses the characteristics of the technology ofSino-Russian trade to illustrate the development space of technology. The fifthchapter talks about the factors that restrict the development of China and Russia’strade, and puts forward the corresponding policy recommendations.Based on the absorption of existing research on the basis of the theory, this paperachieves the following innovations: Firstly, select Russia as the typical trade partnerwith the highest degree of complementarities. Secondly, put forward a full range oftrade development space of the problem, not only from the cargo trade,but also fromthe two aspects of trade in services and technology. Thirdly, use the method ofquantitative economy and new data to construct the gravity model.
