The coming of the information age, making the social and economic lifeeverywhere flashed figure of information, information consumption as a response tothe information age has been the sudden emergence of a new type of consume.Premier Li Keqiang chaired a State Council executive meeting in2013, has studiedthe deployment of energy-saving environmental protection industry to accelerate thedevelopment, promotion of information consumption, stimulating effective domesticdemand and promote economic restructuring and upgrading. According to the policyobjectives, five" after three years, the scale of China’s average annual growth ofinformation consumption by more than20%by2015,China will scale informationconsumption more than3.2trillion Yuan, becoming China’s information industrydevelopment and information consumption a major positive message.But at this stage in the high rate of investment, low consumption rate under theeconomic situation, the rapid development of information consumption, willovercome the weak consumption situation, have a significant and far-reaching impacton China ’s economic development. However, there is a digital divide, but then thesocial stability and economic sustainable development impede the formation of newstratification, and this difference is increasingly prominent.So,how to measure theimpact of information consumption to economic growth? Our digital divide in the endhow much, and whether further expansion? Differences in how they affect theeconomy? These is the need to be studied in depth and give answer.In this paper,the use of modern econometric methods to the relationship betweeninformation consumption and economic growth as the main line,qualitative researchand quantitative analysis of the combination.First use of VAR,impulse responsemodel,variance decomposition method to express the interaction between informationconsumption and economic growth,testing both have the degree of influence of bothlong-term and analysis between;followed by the use of panel data model,the use ofinformation consumption function,the degree of difference between the consumptionof resident information is analyzed to show the existence of the digital divide;Finally, semi-parametric methods,and research information on the relationship betweenpopulation and economic growth in consumption,indicating the presence of Chineseresidents information consumption and economic growth and promote each othereffect.Long-term and short-term fluctuations in dynamic equilibrium exists betweeninformation consumption and economic growth through quantitative study found thatthe information consumer can effectively promote economic development.Not onlythe interaction between a causal link, but also to each other and their own role inpromoting a positive future.Based on this,China should accelerate the development of the informationindustry,and promote the process of information,facilitating informationconsumption,enhance economic operation mechanism,stimulating a virtuous cycle ofboth;various reforms to improve,increase income and curb polarization,improveresident education,guide information consumption,China’s economy to achieve steadyand rapid growth.Demand and supply information to improve residents consumption,steady improvement of economic growth.
