Urbanization can not only promote the development of economy, narrow theurban-rural gap, promote social justice, but also to promote the welfare of the people,enhance the government’s ability to govern. Since the reform and opening up, Chineseconstantly raise the level of urbanization, by the end of2011, the city population ismore than the rural population for the first time; along with the rapid development ofurbanization, China’s social security system is also in constant exploration anddevelopment. With the advent of New-Type Urbanization, Social security plays amore and more important role in the process of urbanization, urbanization alsoprovide the material basis for social security, therefore, it is important to study on therelationship between the Urbanization and Social security.This paper has introduced the basic knowledge of social security andurbanization; studied the mutual restraint mechanism of urbanization and socialsecurity; analyzed typical Western countries’ relationship between urbanization andsocial security; analyzed the relationship of urbanization and social security bystatistical ways; used VAR model to empirically study the finance social securityexpenditure level variation, the social insurance fund expenditure level variation andthe urbanization level variation`s relationship;then came to conclusion.Through the analysis: social security and urbanization have been interaction andmutual influence. We should make them be positive interaction. At present, theurbanization and social security of China has not yet formed a positive interactivesituation, among them, the Urbanization is obviously influence Social security. Socialsecurity has a certain effect on the development of urbanization, but the effect is small.To some extent, the imperfect social security system, especially the imperfect socialinsurance system has some adverse effect on the development of urbanization.Based on the above situation and problems, China should perfect the related lawsand social security, Increase financial social security expenditure in process ofUrbanization, actively improve the migrant workers social insurance system, establishof a reasonable social security system, consistent and reasonably promoteurbanization, to make the urbanization and social security be coordinated。...
