Agriculture is the foundation of the national economy, so is the base of economic development. To ensure the agricultural development of steady growth is directly related to the stability of the national economy and the process of building a well-off society. But the core of agricultural problems lies in peasant farmers, and the core lies in the development of the farmers’ income growth. The development of urbanization can not only effectively promote the transfer of rural surplus population to improve the rural land management of scale and benefit, but also directly promote the ascension of farmers’ salary income and property income. In addition, through the radiation effect of urbanization, the agricultural modernization level can be promoted, so as the growth of the income of the farmers. As the premier Li said "we should expand the space of peasants’ employment and increasing of income by the New-type Urbanization and Agricultural modernization". Wuhan is the representative of central city of China, is the representative of "big city with big rural", and also is the pilot city of the New-type Urbanization, so studying the relationship between urbanization and farmer’s income of Wuhan is meaningful. This paper takes effect of urbanization development on the growth of farmers’ income of Wuhan as the research object, and based on the statistical data from 1993-2013 of Wuhan. Firstly, the paper reviews Wuhan’s urbanization’s development history and farmers’income history and the problems of the development of urbanization in Wuhan city to promote the farmers’ income. We find that the lag of urbanization development in Wuhan has leaded to the farmers’ income increasing slowly and discourage the optimization of the structure of farmers’ income and the city’s absorption of agricultural population. Then we use the VAR model, grey correlation method, comparative analysis method and experience method to analyze how the urbanization effect the increasing of peasants’ income. And we find that Wuhan’s urbanization has a significant impact on the income of the farmers, and urbanization development level for every increase unit, will promote the farmers’ income increased 1.41 units, about 28.95% of the farmers’ income in the short term part of deviating from the equilibrium will be fixed. Finally based on the above analysis and inspection, we put forward the opinion of the urbanization of Wuhan city to promote the farmers’ income, including that adhere to the urbanization construction, focus on promoting the urban urbanization, changing the structure of the city’industrial structure, to avoid the negative effects of the urbanization construction, and promoting the people-oriented urbanization, promoting the diversification of farmers’ income channels, etc.In the analysis, we combine theoretical and practical methods to analyze the effect of the urbanization development of Wuhan on the income growth of the farmers. For example, Vertical comparison, horizontal comparison, vector auto regressive and grey correlation method etc. Thus providing ample evidence for argumentation for the demonstration of Wuhan urbanization development’ influence on the income growth of the farmers. In this paper, the following innovations are made through the literature review and real data:Comprehensively combed and demonstrated the course, status quo and characteristics of the development of urbanization and the income of the farmers in Wuhan City, reveals the problems of the development of the urbanization in Wuhan at the present stage to promote the farmers’ income through the comparative analysis. And we use the VAR model to analysis the relationship between the farmer income and the urbanization development of Wuhan City, and we find out the positive correlation between them.
