Since the1990s, in-depth development of the knowledge economy promotemanufacturing enterprises to carry out a subtle change in developed countries. In theproduction process, the proportion of the service elements involved in all aspects isincreasing, which makes the value of service in the final product greatly improved.And a lot of businesses occurs the trend that thansform from manufacturing to service.In China, manufacturers are no longer mere product suppliers, but gradually shift toservice providers. Meanwhile, the customer’s demand for services throughout theproduct life cycle, manufacturing companies servitization practice based on productlife cycle has become the choice of many enterprises. Scholars also made extensiveresearch about manufacturing enterprise servitization, but most of them focused onthe transformation pathway, pattern, etc.. There is little literature studyingmanufacturing enterprise service transformation factors based on the product lifecycle perspective. In view of this, we use a combination of theoretical and empiricalapproach to equipment manufacturers for the object, based on product life cycleperspective,and make research on manufacturing enterprise service transformationfactors and the degree of influence factors. The findings as follow:Firstly, link the product life cycle with manufacturing companies servicetransformation, put forward the concept of service transformation based on productlife cycle, describe the characteristics of transformation, transition type in the variousstages of enterprise, analyzes and summarizes business activities and services in thevarious stages.Secondly, make equipment manufacturing companies as samples, by sending questionnaires to collect data, use factor analysis to summariz factors in each stage:factors in introductory phase are the competitors, technology, policy, businesscondition; factors for the growing phase are customer demand, product cost, processreengineering; factors for mature period are internal and external communication,customer engagement, corporate external relations; factors for recession are technologand environmental protection.Innovation of this article is that combine the product life cycle with themanufacturing enterprise service transformation, then propose the servicetransformation concept of manufacturing enterprise based on product life cycle, andresearch the influencing factors in different stages,which can provide reference toguide manufacturing enterprise service transformation.
