Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone Development Plan has proposed tooptimize the layout of the coastal towns, cultivating three urban groups includingQingdao-Weifang-Rizhao, Yantai-Weihai, Dongying-Binzhou. Construction Office ofthe Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone has fully considerate the transport andlogistics factors on the sub-region division of seven cities, but never from theperspective of economic relevance, to analyze the spatial correlation of eachsub-area in the blue economic zone and the internal core county associationbetween the neighboring counties’ patterns inside the sub-region. Only achieveeffective interaction between two cities, carry benign competition and cooperation, give full play to the spatial neighbor effect, and eliminate artificial barriers whichobstruct the factors of production between regions to achieve a rational flow, canpromote the harmonious and balanced development of regional economy. Thisarticle is to fill this gap, using the spatial association pattern analysis and researchcombined with regional economic development, and integration of the spatialstatistical analysis and GIS technology, to achieve regional economic analysis ofspatial data and results visualization. Innovative use of the combination of qualitativeand quantitative methods, from two dimensions of time and space, to explore thespatial heterogeneity and spatial dependency in development process of the regionaleconomy, deepen the research and analysis of the role and impact of spatialautocorrelation function towards regional economic development. The explorationand analysis about the regional economic development association patterns of theShandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone will effectively decision-making for regionaleconomic development, provide important scientific basis for the spatial differencesin regulation and regional economic development policy formulation andimplementation, and a strong foundation for the empirical analysis for the ShandongPeninsula blue Economic zone to achieve coordinated development of regionaleconomies, promote regional integration, reduce spatial differences heterogeneity ofregional economic development.Framework of this paper is designed as follows, chapter0is the introduction, mainly introduced the research background, significance, the domestic and foreign literaturereview, the research content and problems to be solved, the research methods andinnovations. Chapter1introduces the basic overview of the Shandong Peninsula BlueEconomic Zone, and with appropriate partition divided into three sub-economic zone, respectively, named Qingdao-Weifang-Rizhao, Yantai-Weihai, Dongying-Binzhou,establishing the center of these sub-regions, illustrate that this thesis will use thedata of51counties (districts) of the average annual GDP growth rate in the ShandongPeninsula Blue economic Zone, and the observed and analysis time section is dividedinto two time periods (2003-2007,2007-2012). Chapter2mainly introduces the basictheory of this article relies on spatial economic relation analysis, including thevarious statistical amount and index of global autocorrelation and partialautocorrelation, integration method of spatial statistical analysis and GIS, and thelocation theory related to regional aggregation and industry agglomeration. Chapter3is the core part of this article, based on the theory of chapter2, to analysis theeconomic association of the Shandong peninsula blue economic zone. First, via theglobal autocorrelation pattern to analysis aggregation and dispersion of areas whichGDP growth fast or slow in each period. Then use the partial autocorrelation patternto analysis the spatial relationships and correlation effects between sub-regions,counties and districts in different periods, finally through a multistage comprehensiveanalysis to find the difference of the relationships between regional economicgrowth pattern and the partial spatial correlation in different periods and whether issignificant or not. Chapter4gives conclusions and policy recommendations throughthe front empirical analysis. Then analysis the changes in the process of regionaleconomic development in each sub-region of the blue economic zone, found that inthe actual operation, the space economic relationships between policies zonepresent a gradual increased trend in recent years, but some areas are not verysignificant. So this article put forward countermeasures to regulate the regionaleconomic difference, and to promote the regional integration from the perspectiveof promoting regional economic coordinated development, so as to achieve optimaldevelopment of Shandong peninsula blue economic zone.
