The World Tourism Organization predicts that, to2020, China will become the world’slargest tourist destination and the fourth largest tourist exporting country. Visible, thedevelopment prospects of China’s tourism industry is very broad. At the same time, China’stourism industry will be faced with increasingly fierce international competition. Thetwenty-first Century is the era of competition for talent, therefore, in order to improve theinternational competitiveness of tourism industry, to accelerate the development of China’stourism education has become particularly important. However, in the process ofdevelopment, because of too blindly to grasp the development speed, while ignoring themethod or strategy of tourism education, leading to the current tourism education quality isnot high, and the different levels of problems also emerge and become more and more serious,the phenomenon has caused concern and attention on tourism education by the governmentand related studies.Based on the above issues, this paper takes the31provinces as an example, to the mutualharmony of education and economic development and competency based education theory asthe support, first of all, the use of principal component analysis and comprehensive benefitsfunction and to quantitatively analyze tourism education and tourism development of theoverall level of China’s provinces, and have a spatial differentiation analysis for the tourismeducation development in china. Secondly, the use of four-quadrant method for thedevelopment of tourism education and tourism development in the provinces of coordinatedresearch degree, and then, according to the coordination problem and unbalanceddevelopment of tourism education and tourism industry were among the causes of the analysis.Finally, according to the analysis the results put forward the corresponding solutions anddevelop countermeasures. After the study, we can be found that:(1) The tourism educationdevelopment level was not balanced in different provinces, can be divided into tourismeducation developed, middle developed and underdeveloped three types.(2) The tourismeducation development level decreased from east to west and from south to north in China.(3)The internal partition tourism education development level also existed differences.(4) thedevelopment of tourism education and tourism development have problems of low levels ofcoordination and non coordination. Therefore, through the study of this paper can provide reference for the futuredevelopment of tourism education, provide substantial guidance for the vigorous developmentof tourism, but also contribute to the future of tourism education and tourism industry moreharmonious, more quickly and more sustainable development.
