The Empirical Study On The Relationship Between Science And Technology Investment In Forestry And The Productivity Growth Of Forestry

The empirical study between investment in science and technology withproductivity growth relationship has been the focus of scholars at home and abroad. Withthe the first central document of2012focus on agricultural science and technologyinvestment, the investment in agricultural science and technology also set off a craze.The study on agricultural science and technology investment has set off a craze with thecentral first document focus on it.However, the current research aboutthe forestry investment in science and technology involved little. So, it should be causemore attention. Besause the forestry investment in science and technology plays animportant role in forestry production and economic development. Forestry, as animportant part of the national economy, plays a widespread role on the development ofhuman society. At present, the development of forestry had become the extensive growthpattern which mainly rely on capital、labor and other inputs. And, science and technologyinput of forestry for the productivity growth is still not fully play. Technologicalinnovation has become the important symbol of national core competitiveness and theendogenous power of promoting the transformation of the development pattern since thenew century. Science and technology innovation has become the key measures to solvethe forestry evolutionary problems from the present situation of forestry. At present, weare in a period of strategic opportunities and “golden p development” for forestrydevelopment, the technical requirements and support for the modern forestryconstruction is more urgent and prominent. Science and technology investment inforestry has increased year by year along with the importance of forestry science.Currently, there is a general consensus about the role of science and technology inpromoting forestry production. However, the quantitative understanding of science andtechnology in the forestry production is not sufficient. We can say that there are lesserempirical research on the science and technology input and the development of forestry.Therefore, this paper selects the Guangdong, Shandong, Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangsu,Guangxi, Sichuan, Hunan, Jiangxi and other nine major forestry provinces as the objectof study. Then, use financial support as a starting point and calculate the total factorproductivity of nine major forestry provinces. Finally, make an empirical study of therelationship between science and technology investment in forestry and the productivitygrowth of forestry. At the same time, put forward suggestions to promote forestryproductivity growth by improving science and technology investment through theresearch results. And, provide practical support for the development of forestry industry.Also, it can provide some theoretical references for the government’s macro decisions.
