Since reform and opening-up, our country actively has integrated into the world economy system. Foreign trade grew so rapidly that we became the world’s largest exporter and trading nation in2009and2011. However, since the American subprime crisis in2008, many countries have made various ways of bailout measures aimed at resolving short-term contradiction for future international voice. With the highlighted eruption of European debt crisis in2009, the EU overtaking Japan and the United States became our country’s largest export market and importer source in2011. Meanwhile, the trade friction between China and the EU has been a key sensitive topic with the new trend of growth property, periodicity, nationality, tridimensional character, concealment, product upgrade and so on. Not only did these new changes reflect the tactical side of the trade friction, which would solve the debt crisis of the economic growth, but also they embodies the strategic aspect, which provided more system space for the future long-term economic growth, such as countervailing policy, new product orientation and so on. This article selects brick of pottery and porcelain as the representative of the traditional industry and photovoltaic products as a representative of the emerging industries, the trade effects of EU’s anti-dumping case and economic and political motivations behind the driver have been studied by us.Many foreign scholars have made related research on the trade effect of anti-dumping, but their research content and methods have limitations to some extent. These foreign studies are mostly based on the research of the developed countries, and most of domestic research is the introductive explanation of some basic concepts, few of them have made comprehensive and quantitative analysis. In this paper, we select brick of pottery and porcelain as the representative of the traditional industry and photovoltaic products as a representative of the emerging industries to make more specific and in-depth analysis on the trade effect of trade friction between China and EU.As a result of the European debt crisis caused by the PIGS (Portugal, Italy, Greece, Spain) countries, antidumping (AD) policy against China emerged as a widespread policy impediment to trade for the European Union (EU), typically in the traditional Chinese ceramic tile industry. Based on empirically analyzing the Chinese ceramic tile trade flows to the EU countries at the monthly product (6HS code) level, the paper measures the trade destruction effect of trade fiction, the absolute and proportional effect of trade diversion. The evidence presented in this paper indicates that:firstly AD does have a significant impact on Chinese ceramic tile exports, especially for the small-sized, in two specified time periods, that is the time after the preliminary affirmative determination and around the final affirmative determination. However, due to the trade deflection effect, china, the named country, does not experience a reduction of exports in total amount. The AD policy has helped EU to regain part of its market share, but the real effect is limited because of the trade diversion effect. Hence it is never a right remedy for the European ceramic tile industry nor the EU countries severely dragged down by European debt crisis.Photovoltaic products is a representative of the emerging industries, its fast development has gained attention from the governments all around the world. Based on the measurement of trade competition advantage of products which involved in the case and analysis of the anti-dumping trade flows of the EU to China photovoltaic products, this paper considers the trade effect of different implementation stages, namely the effect of trade restrictions and trade diversion effect. The research shows that:First, the anti-dumping of photovoltaic products exports to Europe will cause the significant decrease, especially Chinese competitive advantage product export to Europe. Second, from the perspective of trade diversion effect, which has the same case with brick of pottery and porcelain, anti-dumping charges did not have very good effect on trade. The above analysis indicates that anti-dumping limits the export of foreign products, but the export of other non-friction nations to friction-initiated nations does not increase effectively, that is to say, the EU member states do not gain more market share. The industry relief effect of anti-dumping measures is limited, which cannot really help out European ceramics, more than a dose of critical crisis countries.
