Empirical Study On Industrialization Of The Pig In Shandong Province

Shandong province is a big province of producing pigs in China, the amount of pig andthe output of pork production after the Sichuan Province, Hubei province and HunanProvince, ranking the fourth in the whole country. In2012, the amount of pig slaughter is45999000head and the output of pork production is3767000tons, respectively accountedfor6.59%and7.05%of the total China pig slaughter and pork production. The developmentof pig industry promotes the development of animal husbandry in Shandong Province, meetsthe people’s demand for pork products, and increases the income of farmers.However, Shandong is not the powerful breeding pig province, pig productionand pork price fluctuating obviously, the cost of pig raising higher relatively, industryperformance lower relatively, the pig and pork quality and safety problems still needfurther improvement. These questions restrict the healthy development and enhancing thecompetitiveness of pork industry in Shandong province. Therefore, based on literaturesanalysis， expert interviews and investigation,this paper empirical analyses the situation ofpig industrialization in Shandong province by methods of systems analysis， statisticalanalysis and structural analysis.The system awareness of pig industry and the development of pig industry in Shandongprovince is the theoretical foundation of this paper. Based on the concept and content of pigindusty and pig industialization，this part analyzes the basic conditions and the developmentof pig industy in Shandong province. Study shows that，Shandong province has good naturalcondition, economic condition and social condition of developing pig industry and the trendof development is fluctuant. But on the whole, the trend of development is good.The description analysis of the pig industraliazation in Shandong province is thehighlights of this paper. Based on the data of field investigation and questionnaire data, byusing frequency analysis method, this part analyzes the situation of producing of pig farmhousehold from the aspects of the input source, slaughter pigs sales, expanding desireandrisks and difficulties and the situation of pig industrialization from the aspects of the basicsituation of participation, condtions of participation, sevice, and so on. Study shows that，thelevel of large-scale pig farming and industrialization of Shandong province is low, andthe industrialization organization does not play its role.The study of the pig raiser’s willingness and influence factors of participating pig industrialization and analysis of typical pig industrialization model are the core of this paper.In this part， according to the survey data of856pig raisers， we analyzes the factorsinfluencing the pig raiser’s willingness of participating pig industrialization by using theLogistic Model. Study shows that，the gender, the age, the education, the feeding types and thearea features six factors have significant influence on the pig raiser’s willingness. Thetypical pig industry operation mode existing in Shandong province are mainly the company+farm households, intermediary organizations+company+farm households, company+breeding base/district+pig farm mode and cooperative, and put forward the conception ofthe pig industry chain model based on the analysis of four typical patterns’ advantages anddisadvantages.Optimizing the pig industrialization of Shandong province is the end-result of this paper.According to actual research and the results of Logistic Model, suggestions for optimizing thepig industrialization from the pig farm households, enterprises, intermediary organization andgovernmert.
