The Study Of The Manufacturing Competitiveness In Xia-zhang-quan Metropolitan

In2012, GDP in Xia-Zhang-Quan metropolitan region accounted48.4percentage of thatin Fujian Province region, the three cities of which the industrial increase accounted48percentage of GDP in them. Meanwhile, the large-scale manufacturing value added three citiesaccounted for the overall industrial added value up to81%, the manufacturing industry is veryimportant. To improve manufacturing competitiveness helps the region’s development.After elaborating on the concept and development course of industry competitiveness andmanufacturing competitiveness, this paper makes a conclusion on the theoretical basis of theindustrial competitiveness and the overviews of research at home and abroad, and then it putsforward the evaluation index and evaluation method for the study of manufacturingcompetitiveness in Xia-Zhang-Quan metropolitan, establishes a set of evaluation index whichcan be used to analyze competitiveness of the manufacturing industry in the region, wecalculate the scores of competitiveness of manufacturing industry in the region by the usage ofprincipal component analysis method, with the help of the SPSS software. The results indicatesthat there are only9combined scores above0.The industries include leather, fur, feathers andits products and footwear industry, petroleum processing, rubber and plastic products industry,other manufacturing, clothing, chemical fiber manufacturing industry, paper and paper productsindustry, computer, communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry,culture, art, sports and entertainment goods manufacturing industry. that is to say, only9industries’ competitiveness is higher than the national average level. the other20industriescompetitiveness is lower than the national average level, the general manufacturingcompetitiveness of the area isn’t powerful, at the same time, the results also show that theexistence of industrial structure development is not balanced and capital and technologyintensive industry is relatively weak. Then this paper use the location quotient analysis to studytheir respective advantages and disadvantages of three cities’ industries. Finally, according tothe characteristics of overall manufacturing competitiveness of these areas and their respectiveadvantages and disadvantages between the three cities, this paper puts forward thecorresponding countermeasures and suggestions.
