Myanmar was also known as "Asia’s granary", known as the reputation of "rice country". Myanmar, formerly the world’s leading rice exporter, has historically been the highest export volume reached3.5million tons.1960s, Myanmar has ranks first in the world in the export of rice, Myanmar annual output of rice accounted for40%of the world’s total rice exports, but the title has been long, it has been forgotten by most of the world. It is reported that Myanmar in1956years ago, to export more than1million tons of rice, but then rice exports rarely more than1million tons. Since the1960s, slow agricultural development in Myanmar, the former glory gone. Myanmar breakthrough reforms currently underway, the government is seeking to revive its rice industry approach and hope to again become the world’s top rice exporter.Drama statistics, Myanmar’s rice export volume in2012was only778,000tons, Less than neighboring Thailand and Vietnam.
