While business value of information technology is obvious to people, not all the information technology practice can achieve its expected benefits. In fact, it’s not information technology itself that provides values or competitive advantages, but how the information technology and systems are embedded into companies. The development and implementation of information system(IS) strategy precisely determines the effect of business performance improvement. However, for the IS strategy, domestic entrepreneurs and even some academics haven’t had a profound understanding of its meaning and importance. At the same time, increasingly changing environment requires companies to have a good ambidextrous ability-the balance and regulation between exploration and exploitation. Due to its innovative perspective and unique content, ambidexterity becomes the hot topic of the management field. The positive relationship between organizational ambidexterity and business performance has been confirmed by scholars, which leaves exploring antecedents to organizational ambidexterity and its formation a valuable research to be developed. IS may enable companies’abilities on both applying and developing current innovations and exploring revolutionary innovations as a result of the influences of IS on enterprise processes, strategy and other aspects. Thus, interpreting IS strategy from the perspective of ambidexterity and exploring the relationship between IS strategy ambidexterity and business performance under environmental uncertainty becomes one of the most valuable research topics. On the base of theories such as ambidexterity, information technology ability and literatures about the relationship among IS strategy, organizational ambidexterity and corporate performance, this paper decides to discuss the relationship between IS strategy and corporate performance from the perspective of ambidexterity, and at the this time, consider the regulatory role of environmental uncertainty and the intermediary role of organizational ambidexterity. Empirical study method is adopted in wich assumptions presented according to previous theoretical analysis are tested with data obtained from questionnaire surveys via SPSS. Results are as follows:positive correlations are found between organizational ambidexterity and business performance, IS strategy ambidexterity and business performance, IS strategy ambidexterity and organizational ambidexterity; environmental uncertainty positively regulates the relationship between organizational ambidexterity and business performance, IS strategy ambidexterity and business performance; organizational ambidexterity partially mediates the impact of IS strategy ambidexterity on corporate performance.Theoretically, this paper creatively studies the relationship between IS strategy and corporate performance from the perspective of ambidexterity, and at the this time, considers the regulatory role of environmental uncertainty and the intermediary role of organizational ambidexterity; divides objectives into four categories:exploration, exploitation, ambidexterity and the fake ambidexterity according to its ambidextrous property; measures ambidexterity in both explorative and exploitive dimensions and balancing and interactive perspectives, thus it not only enriches researches on IS strategy but also provides new ideas and methods for future studies on ambidexterity. Practically, since this study demonstrates the importance of IS strategy ambidexterity on organizational ambidexterity and corporate performance, it also points out a new direction of efforts fostering organizational ambidexterity through the construction and implementation of enterprise IS strategy ambidexterity, wich finally improves business performance.
