With the deepening reform of corporate governance of rural credit co-operatives, a large number of rural commercial banks have been emerging. The newly established rural commercial banks will face pressures and challenges from non-performing assets management. One challenge is the management and collection of non-performing assets on and off balance sheet; the other is the clearing of newly-increased non-performing assets. By analyzing and summarizing the changing process of non-performing asset management of X Rural Commercial Bank, the author explores the management mode of non-performing asset of rural commercial banks and analyzes some practical management issues such as the non-performing asset management model, management methods, and performance evaluation. This paper aims to provide solutions to X Rural Commercial Bank asset Management and give reference for managing non-performing assets of other rural commercial banks and other small and medium financial institutions.The first part is the introduction, including the research purpose, significance, research content and research methods of rural commercial bank management.The second part is an overview of the management of non-performing assets. It mainly introduces the important concepts of non-performing assets including, non-performing asset, non-performing loan, bad debts and repossessed assets. Moreover, the author also discusses the previous views and comments on non-performing assets management, pointing out that the study of rural commercial banks non-performing asset management is relatively few, and this paper is a complement to previous studies.The third part concerns the case study of rural commercial banks’ non-performing assets management, including its history, the data collection process and data processing methods.The fourth part takes X Rural Commercial Bank as an example, declaring its non-performing asset management profiles. On this basis, it analyzes and discusses the case from the non-performing assets management mode, the methods of non-performing assets management and the performance evaluation of non-performing assets.The fifth part demonstrates the change and reform of non-performing asset management of X Rural Commercial Bank.The sixth part, based on the case study of X Rural Commercial Bank non-performing management, puts forward concrete proposals for the non-performing asset management of rural commercial banks in terms of management mode, management methods and performance evaluation.The research method of this paper focuses on case study. By describing and analyzing the change and reform of non-performing asset management mode of the X Rural Commercial Bank and based on practical experience and effects, this paper aims to provide theoretical and practical suggestions for other researchers to further study the non-performing asset management of rural commercial banks and other small financial institutions.
