Logistics Mode Selection Of XG Company

Currently, internal logistics can be divided into three different types, namely self-run logistics, Third-Part Logistics(TPL) and logistics alliance. The discrepancy of different industries, enterprise scale, business capacity, logistic management ability of an enterprise plays a kay role in the selection of enterprise logistics mode.Through investigating the literature about studies on self-run logistics, Third-Part Logistics and logistics alliance, and also investigating and visiting XG Company’s specific circumstance, this thesis carries out a study on how to select the road logistics mode for an enterprise. In order to lay the foundation for the following writing, the author introduces the related theory of logistics management. By analysis, the predominance of the logistics mode in the company are concluded:the company is faced with a great potential power and develops quickly; the improvement of logistics infrastructure has provided conditions for the development of logistics; the development of outsourcing and logistics alliance is more and more mature. Combined with logistics modes selected in different stages, the thesis analyzes the key probloms of the logistics in this company, such as, the high costs of transportation, storage, management on Self-run logistics; the low degree of systematism; the lack of competition mechanism; its too scattered main part of outsourcing; low service quality; obvious contradiction with Self-run logistics. On the basis of expert evaluation, as well as by adopting Analytic hierarchy process (AHP), the uathor suggests that the logistics alliance is adequate for the XG Company at the present stage. In order to raise the implementation level of the logistics alliance, the company needs to improve the service level to meed the customer requirements, establishes a high degree of informationization of logistics management. The company can also Choose a suitable logistics alliance partners through evaluation, establish a benefit-sharing and risk clear contract mechanism, and carry out a regular performance appraisal, etc.
