As the pillar of Chinese tourism, hotel industry plays an important role in nationaleconomy. Currently, all top ten international hotel groups have entered Chinese market,and constantly enhanced their brand penetration. In contrast, Chinese hotels startinternationalization very late. It is a top priority for Chinese hotels to explore the factorsinfluencing Chinese hotel internationalization and find a path towardsinternationalization according to China’s national condition.Through combing the previous literatures, the author finds that there are fourtypes of motivations for hotel internationalization, i.e. market-oriented, efficiency-oriented, and strategic asset-oriented and competition-oriented. Additionally, this studyselects18factors to do the qualitative and quantitative research by using method ofAnalytic Hierarchy Process from five perspectives.After the data analysis, the author concludes that the orders of the relativeimportance of the five main factors are: comprehensive strength of hotel, hotelmanagement team, related industries, individual characters of leaders and environmentfactors at home and abroad. Comprehensive strength of hotel and hotel managementteam are much more important. Among the various influence factors, brand influenceand TMT international operation experience pose decisive influence on decisions ofinternationalization of Chinese five-star hotels. In the end, some suggestions are putforward. And the author also analyzes the limitations and research directions for thefuture.
