Research On Optimization Of Tourism Industrial Structure Of Fujian Province Based On Tourism Industrial Cluster

Since China’s reform and opening up, tourism industry in Fujian Province hasdeveloped rapidly with abundant resource and convenient geography location for itsphysical proximity to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Tourism in Fujian Province is inrecession to a certain degree at present. The total tourism income of Fujian Province ranksNo.8nationally in2002, however its national ranking dropped to No.12. The optimizationof tourism industrial structure is the fundamental way to accelerate the transformation oftourism economic development. The optimization of tourism industrial structure hasbecome an urgent problem of Fujian Province.Industrial cluster can effectively promote the optimization of industrial structure.Industrial cluster is an effective industrial organization form of the optimization ofindustrial structure and is an important source of regional competitiveness. Tourismdevelopment process of many countries shows that tourism industrial cluster has becomeone of the ways to optimize the tourism industrial structure. The thesis researches onoptimization of tourism industrial structure of Fujian Province based on tourism industrialcluster. The thesis could enrich the research theory of industrial economics and provide agood reference for the optimization of tourism industrial structure in other provinces.The thesis adopts the qualitative and quantitative research methods. It analysestourism industrial structure and tourism industrial cluster. It is aim to determine the futuredirection of tourism industry development of Fujian province. The thesis adopts Shift-shareanalysis method and gray correlation method to study the effectiveness and relevance ofindustrial structure in Fujian Province respectively. The concentration of the tourismindustrial cluster is studied by Location Quotient and spatial Gini coefficient method. Thestudy amount to two conclusions, namely, the first conclusion is that the departments oftourism industrial are short of coordination. It shows that the general development oftransport sector, accommodation sector and restaurant sector rank the first; the generaldevelopment of commodity sector and recreation sector rank the second; the general development of tour sector ranks the third; the general development of postal&telecommunication sector and other support sector rank the last. The second conclusion isthat Xiamen, Fuzhou, Quanzhou and Nanping have formed four tourism industrial clusters.At the same time, the tourism industry shows a weak agglomeration. Finally, the writerproposes some optimizing countermeasures according to the current situation andconstraints of the optimization of tourism industrial structure.
