The Strategy And Analysis Of Land Utilization For Dongguan City During The Urbanization In The Past

It is well known that China is the largest developing country in the world, but it has a large population with little land, especially the farmland. After thirty years of reformation and opening to the world for the economic development, especially in the last ten years, China is now in the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization,which will stay for a long time in the future without great change. Urbanization is the result from the economic change geographically, and thus it leads a greater and greater demand of land for urban construction. In order to ensure the sufficient supply of land, a lot of agricultural land has been taken, especially farmland. As mentioned above, China is such a country with a large population but very little farmland, therefore it is essential to make the policy to protect1.8billions of Mus of farmland. How to protect the farmland with the rapid development of economic, and make good use of the land is one of the main challenge that the government of Dongguan city faces. It is hopeful to find out the existing problems by taking the land use policy of Shilong town as an example and figure out a optimal land utilization proposal through the investigation and analysis of the current land use of Dongguan city.This paper is intended to find out a solution to the problem of the sustainable land use for Dongguan city by studying the current domestic land use policy and the Shilong town project of the renovation of old city in Shilong town. Furthermore, hopefully it can help the economic development of Shilong town, as well as the economic and the social development of the Guangdong province. This paper consists of the following five parts:Part Ⅰ, the " Introduction", is the exposition of the background and the purpose of the research about the land use, research methods and the research trends; Part Ⅱ, the "Summary of relevant theories and the land use policy of other countries", is the exposition of the optimal land utilization、 the theory of the renovation of old city and the land use policy of other countries; Part III, the "overview of the renovation of old city", is the exposition of the renovation of old city; Part IV, the "An Empirical Study of the renovation of old city issues", is the exposition of the overview of Shilong town、the renovation of old city in Shilong、the process of the renovation、the accomplishment of the renovation and the derivational problem analysis;Part V, the " the strategy and suggestion", is the exposition of the strategy and advice on how to solve the problems resulted from the renovation of old city.
