With integration of the world economy, there has been structural changes to the textile industry. The business model of the textile industry of China is changing from a pure manufacturer toward an innovative branded fashion designer, resulted in a environment that is a combination of difficulty, challenge, and opportunity. The textile industry of China, facing challenges, is trying hard to find a way to go pass the bottleneck and meet the challenge. As a result, innovation in business models is highly anticipated for the textile industry.This thesis analyzes the business model and operations of a star company in the textile industry that produces and sells its products, the ED Company, and reason for its rise and fall within a short time. This thesis investigate business model from domestic and international papers, using strategic management theory analysis relevant to the textile industry, to analyze competitiveness of ED Company. From this investigation, an innovative business model and design principle, with a clear goal, to revive ED Company, is created. This thesis also analyzes four existing and potential competitor’s business model, to learn from the competition, in order to finally create a multi-dimensional innovative business model. Finally, the new business model is analyzed for its implement-ability and competitiveness, with possible road block studied, and solution provided. The implementation result of the new business model will also be simulated and discussed.In conclusion, the purpose of the thesis is to provide a innovative business strategy and business model, toward the goal of industry upgrade of China’s textile industry.
