| This paper is based on firm heterogeneity theory, taking single firms as studysubject and using statistics from China Industrial Enterprise Database as sample. Wefirst select entire sample, and analyse how firm heterogeneity presented by total factorproductivity (TFP) and export impact firm technical innovation under Logitmodel.Secondly, we pick firms sample with export output and new product outputgreater than0, and conduct regression analysis under multivariable linear model.Thirdly, we further discuss whether the impact of firm heterogeneity and export onfirm technical innovation is different when use samples of different regions andownership. Empirical results show that: first, to entire enterprises, increase of TFPdoes not improve innovative tendency, while, to those with export output andinnovative output, increase of TFP does boost new product output. Secondly, exportfactor has a positive effect on firm innovation. Compared to those do not export, firmsthat export has higher innovative tendency, or the more export output,the more newproduct output. Thirdly, as with other firm heterogeneity factors, there is a U-Curverelationship between firms’ scale and firms’ innovation. That is, firms with large orsmall scale have higher innovative tendency than firms with medium scale. Inaddition, both average wage and capital intensity have positive effect on firms’innovation. Fourth, the impact of TFP on innovation of firms that both export andproduce new product in eastern region is greater than that in western region. Averagewage and profit also promote innovation of firms with different types of ownership,but this effect is more obvious in non-state enterprises than in state enterprises. |
