The Research For Product Quality Crisis Management In Chinese Food Production Enterprises

As one of the largest and fastest growing pillar industries in the national economy, thefood production enterprises has gained a "darling" of major medias in recent years. But this“darling” is not a good thing for the food production enterprises. From2000to2005, theevents vary from Poisonous rice to Sudan red and the "melamine tainted milk powder"event in2008, China’s food industry become a truly minefield. So many famous enterpriseswere failed because of small things. In this situation, to establish a scientific system ofcrisis management, reducing the risk of the crisis, become the key problems of the foodproduction enterprise survival and development.After decades of research on exploration of crisis management, scholars from bothdomestic and overseas have made a lot of achievement on crisis management. But study onthe crisis of food enterprises in China which combination with the new environment andnew situation are relatively less, especially the crisis management caused by food qualityand safety.This paper has been written as following. Firstly, the research’s background andsignificance have been put forward, and then the basic theories used in the study also havebeen expounded. Secondly, by sorting and analyzing the domestic food safety crisis caseshappened in recent years, the main reasons for the food safety crisis happened in domesticfood companies have been found out by case analysis method. At the same time, thequality of product crises have classified according to the cause of the food safety crisis.Then, based on the classification, the food production enterprise product quality total crisismanagement model has been proposed. Finally, this paper has given a detailed analysis onfood production enterprise product quality total crisis management model in each stage.Thus, a suitable food safety crisis management system in our country for food enterprisehas formed.
