With the development of economic globalization and advances in science andtechnology, the world gradually into the era of knowledge economy, and the serviceindustry developed rapid in this process, in order to enhance the competitiveness ofthe whole country,to vigorously develop the service industry has become one of theimportant tasks of a country in transition period. At the same time, the externalmarketing environment of service enterprises is increasingly complex and volatile.The main reason is the prosperity of network and development of e-commerce, arebreaking the barriers between information and adjust the industry rules, there brings avariety of innovative business models, products, technology, etc.. These newtechnologies have greatly changed people’s way of living and thinking, which makestraditional service companies must continue to innovate in order to improve theircompetitiveness.Also, during this rapid transition from the old era, more and more enterprises losttheir competitive edge, and even ultimately to failure because of the difficulties intimely and quickly adjust to change the circumstances. More and more scholars havenoted that organizational inertia which companies maintain their operational statusquo and resistant to organization change hindered its development, and become thesource of business decay. This paper reviews the connotation of organizational inertia,formation mechanism, mechanism of action, etc., and use the empirical method tofocuses research on the relationship between organizational inertia and organizationalperformance in the service industry, while add the moderating variables-organizational learning. Recent years, more and more attention had been paid toorganizational learning, for through learning, organization can be more flexible andcompetitive, so as to enhance organizational performance. While organizationalinertia can reduce the company’s flexible and response as the development oforganization, which will hinder organizational change, in the last become a drag to theorganizational performance enhancement. This paper mainly research on therelationship between organizational inertia, organizational learning and organizationalperformance in the service industry. After collecting first-hand data, through the testof data reliability, validity, using the regression approach to test the conceptual model.Get the following conclusions:(1) Organizational inertia and organizationalperformance was significantly negatively correlated in the service industry.(2) There is a significant positive correlation in organizational learning and organizationalperformance in the service industry.(3) In the service sector, organizational learninghas part regulatory role on the relationship between organizational inertia andorganizational performance. Finally, hope the paper research can provide a newperspective and support for enterprise management. And also, the paper gives somesuggestions on how to effectively manage the organizational inertia.
