Since China’s reform and opening-up policy was launched, the national economyhas been growing in strength. Meanwhile, our pharmaceutical industry has madeconsiderable progress and has become among the industries of most energy andpromise.TJPC is a comprehensive pharmaceuticals group corporation, whose leadingproducts are corticosteroid API, amino acids for medical purposes API, drugs forexternal use and cardiovascular diseases and antitumor drugs. It is the largest Asiancorticosteroid API and the largest domestic amino acids for medical purposes APIproduction and sales enterprise. As the deepening of new round of medical and healthsystem reform, pharmaceutical industry has undergone unprecedented tremendouschanges, especially against the background of the establishment of national basicdrugs system and the ceaseless perfecting of primary medical and sanitary institutions.Therefore, a comprehensive thinking and analysis of both internal and externalenvironment along with the rational and scientific selection and formulation ofefficient market strategy is of significance for pharmaceutical manufacturingenterprises to build competitive advantages under the circumstance of fierce marketcompetition.As the promoting of China’s new medical reform policy and the intensifiedcompetition within industry, TJPC has been trapped into a bottleneck period with itsmain business confronted a series of operational risks.Therefore, the major problem presented to be researched and resolved is how tostrengthen and amplify existing advantages, expand the development, then launch anew round of strong growth.This thesis is based on a systematic reorganizing of the new medical systemreform and an analysis on its influences on pharmaceutical manufacturing enterprises.TJPC will be analyzed in the thesis from internal and external conditions combiningthe relevant factors while the strength, weakness, opportunities and challenges will bedistinctly presented according to the company’s actual conditions like human resource,organizational structure, production management, quality management, currentoperating state, market environment and corporate culture, etc.. According to the theory of competition strategy, four strategy options areproposed in the thesis on which an systematic analysis will be given aidedprominently by PEST and QSPM–tools of both quantitative and qualitative analysis,With the help of quantitative analysis tools, it can be concluded that verticalintegration strategy should be the preferable option aiming to reform the currentoperating state and adapt itself to the new medical reform policy and conducive toopen up the upstream and downstream industries, extend the industrial chain, andincrease the profits. At the end of the dissertation, assurance measures of theimplement of the strategy will be proposed.Problems faced by TJPC are representative in the domestic industry to someextent, thus this research will be of reference value on the strategy formulation forother enterprises of the same industry.
